This position is based in our Milwaukee, WI service center but will involve local driving to and from the medical facilities within the territory using company vehicles.

Position Details:

Title: HVAC Chiller Technician

Location: Chicago, IL Candiate will live in Chicago and travel out of area as required (50% of the time). The remaining clients are located in the Chicago area.

Shift: 7:30am – 4:30pm, Monday - Friday

Compensation: $80,000 - $105,000; OT paid for after-hours, weekend, and holidays

Benefits: Company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for employee and family after 3 months; 401k with 6% company match; PTO; compensation days for on-call or emergency work as appropriate

Travel: Overnight travel will be required ~50% of the time with the remaining travel being out and back home locally. Technicians drive their personal vehicles and are compensated per mile driven. For long haul travel technicians will fly/have a rental vehicle.

The Smardt HVAC Technician is responsible for serving our customers either on site, by phone, or via remote internet connection. You’ll be involved in chiller startup/commissioning, resolving technical issues, troubleshooting, warranty work, and performing chiller maintenance. Responsibilities include:

Sustaining and delivering high customer satisfaction; communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external contacts.
Provide technical support on indoor/outdoor Smardt chillers Service and troubleshoot chillers in the field
Provide guidance to customers as to the operation and maintenance of their equipment
Be on-call to receive emergency customer calls approximately one week per month/2 months Complete installations, deliver and remove equipment required for installation
Diagnose and target customer’s operational problems Conduct routine maintenance on tools and equipment Promote the sale of add-on work or service agreements
 

Requirements:   

2-4 years of industrial HVAC field experience (specifically chiller); Turbocor/Mag bearing is a plus Mechanical aptitude
Ability to work independently or with a team
