Orion Talent SkillBridge Internship Program

Orion Talent is a proud participant of SkillBridge, a DoD program in which companies offer internships during a service member's last 180 days of Service. During this time, the service member trains and learns from an industry partner while still receiving military compensation and benefits.

You may be eligible to participate in SkillBridge if you have 180 days of service or fewer remaining prior to your date of separation and you have at least 180 continuous days of active service.* A SkillBridge opportunity is an excellent opportunity to enhance your marketability and post-separation career prospects.

*Please note that release for SkillBridge is always mission-dependent and your unit Commander must authorize participation prior to entering into any agreement with interested industry employment partners.

Job Description
What You'll Do
As an Account Executive Intern on our Military Talent Solutions team, you'll be a sales intern responsible for learning how to grow and develop new business for Orion Talent and then putting those principles into action in support of a regional sales team. You'll dive into how to develop custom solutions for top US corporations and how to uncover new companies interested in leveraging our resources for military hiring. You'll be set up to semi-autonomously support, develop and improve your regional territory, with the backing of your regional leadership, corporate staff, and 30 years of collective company experience. At the end of your internship, you are set up to interview for the role of Account Executive.

Job Description
What You'll Do
The use of the internet for marketing continues to accel at high speed and Orion Talent aims to remain on the cutting edge with exceptional website designs. We're looking for a web developer intern to join our marketing team. We aim to raise the bar on creativity and user experiences. The ideal candidate has a technical aptitude, who pays attention to detail, has a knack for problem solving, and can work alongside a team to first learn and then collaborate with a goal of independently working on the creation, maintenance, and updates of our websites with input from the team. Baseline knowledge in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other web services and program applications is essential to succeeding in this role. Experience with Adobe Dreamweaver and Photoshop are preferred. The web developer intern will influence our brand, as well as have an ongoing impact in solidifying our trademark in the talent and staffing industry.

Objectives & Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Assist in the updating and maintaining of Orion Talent website pages
  • Assist in the expansion and optimization of the Orion Talent website
  • Assist in coding and scripting web applications
  • Participate in design and code reviews
  • Work with business units to develop or refine Orion Talent websites
  • Interact with other team members to incorporate their ideas and innovations and vice-versa
  • Perform routine audits as well as on-going maintenance
  • Maintain updated knowledge of new and emerging industry trends and technology

As Graphic Design and Marketing Intern, you'll be responsible for creating beautiful and engaging images for our marketing team. This is an exciting opportunity to help us expand our brand, as well as support various marketing initiatives and client campaigns. You'll generate content for social media and company websites to increase visibility on roles and increase company awareness. You'll be crucial to the continued success of our company by developing creative images and content that engages our target audiences.

What You'll Do
As a Recruiter Intern, you will work on our technical recruiting team. This is your opportunity to assist Veterans, while gaining invaluable Sales and Marketing experience in a high-paced environment. You will work with transitioning, and former military members and aid them in their career search. There is no prior Recruiting experience necessary as you will receive all training needed to succeed in this role. In this position, you will be responsible for recruiting candidates in support of client companies located throughout the country. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Source, screen, and match candidates who have the skills and abilities that our clients are looking for based on a variety of qualifications.
  • Assist with resume creation and revision.
  • Prepare candidates for interviews and work with them through the Orion pipeline, from initial sourcing through post-placement follow-up.
  • Support a lead recruiter on assigned positions and hiring events.
  • Build, grow, and manage an assigned candidate pool.
  • Submit qualified and well screened candidates to positions and track their progress through the hiring process.
  • Confirm well screened candidates for Hiring Conferences and Mini-Conferences.
  • Utilize Social Media and other Marketing techniques to increase company awareness and visibility in key candidate demographics.
  • Travel to military bases, Reserve/National Guard centers, and universities to conduct seminars, attend career fairs, and meet with veterans, conducting marketability assessments and preparing them for their transition into the civilian workforce or next career.

What You'll Do
As an Associate Recruiter you will:

  • Conduct structured phone interviews that are infused with industry/role specific probing questions as the conversation/interview dictates to pre-qualify candidates for designated clients
  • Documenting candidate responses, effectively screening in or out of the recruitment process based on position requirements.
  • Update candidate statuses in the appropriate recruitment systems (Applicant Tracking System, proprietary systems, etc.)
  • Prepare candidates for interviews; providing logistical information, interview schedule, appropriate attire and expectations for follow up from the recruiter; additional counsel as needed
