What You’ll Do

Solutions Engineer  


 The position will be responsible for the successful design of industrial ventilation systems to meet specific end user's requirements and ongoing management and continuous improvement of the core solution concepts. Responsibilities and Duties


The Solutions Engineer will take an active role from the proposal stage to the final implementation. This will include technical sales support, component specification, system engineering, quality assurance, installation, and commissioning support.


On more complex and custom opportunities, advise the sales team on the best technical approach, calculate budget costs, and develop concept drawings for the system design to meet the customer's needs. Work closely with the technical team to ensure the proposed system meets national and local regulatory standards and codes, as well as internal engineering standards.
Act as lead mechanical designer on assigned projects. Liaise closely with the Project Team and client regarding application, design and documentation. Perform calculations and consult with technical colleagues and experts to further develop solution to meet functional requirements of contract.
Detailed engineering documentation is a requirement of every project. The position is responsible for creating a system design submittal and as-installed documentation: general arrangement drawings, pipe system layout, P&I Diagrams, functional descriptions, BoMs, As-Builts, Operation, installation and Maintenance? (O&M) manuals in coordination with the design team. 
Ensure final design complies with local and national building, mechanical and fire codes. Address Authority Having Jurisdiction inquiries on how design meets these requirements.
Create and issue detailed drawings, BoMs and functional description for procurement, production and testing of components and system. Consult with internal and external suppliers during manufacturing phase, advising them on design specifications.
Execute quality assurance process where all designs and specifications are peer reviewed, and participate in checking the documentation of others.

Provide remote support to technicians in the start-up commissioning process and ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting of installed solutions. Coach and mentor others in the area of industrial ventilation, regulatory codes and standard technical approaches.
Take an active role in engineering initiatives to update and improve standard solution concepts regarding cost, compliance, and function. Collaborate with the engineering, marketing, and sales teams to objectively assess and interpret business, product, and process needs. Establish project objectives and scope for well-articulated and executable projects in component and systems design that delivers innovative, cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications and Skills


Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering and system design.    
Knowledge of industrial ventilation system design and troubleshooting. A good understanding of Air Material Separator(Dust, Fume, and Mist) Design Principles is preferred.     
Proficiency with AutoCAD and Inventor CAD software in preparing 2-D drawings and 3-D models. Experience with Revit and Navisworks creating standard component and coordination models is preferred.
Well-versed in the OSHA, IMC, SMACNA and NFPA codes/requirements about the design and installation of mechanical systems.
Intermediate level skills with MS Office products. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) 
Willing to travel as necessary for project requirements that include but not be limited to project installation and start-up activities, client meetings, company-sponsored meetings, training, industry-related seminars, forums, or conventions.
