Position Description: Service Technician
As a Service Technician, you will travel to job sites throughout the region to repair or inspect overhead cranes. You will be exposed to a variety of different work sites from the pristine and clinical to hot and dirty. You will primarily be working on 3-phase motor controls, wiring, hoist repair and inspection, troubleshooting programs and controls, and installing various inverters and radio units on cranes. Cranes are installed overhead, so you will utilize a scissor lift to access the equipment, which you will pick up from the office each morning when you report to work. Technicians are also the face of the company and will interact with plant managers, company owners, and maintenance managers and personnel, so you must always present yourself in a professional, competent manner. On the job training is provided and as a new technician you will spend the first 3-6 months with a senior technician both in house and in the field. Additional classroom training will also be provided from various vendors that sell parts and equipment to the company.

Requirements:
• The ideal candidate for this role will be a former or transitioning military veteran (EM/ GSE) with strong electrical/electronic training and experience as well as the ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures.
• Experience up to 480v and three phase motors will be critical to success as is the ability to work within the equipment control panels to identify and repair electrical issues.
• You will need to be able to read and interpret wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings.
• A valid NC Driver’s License with clean driving record is a must for this position (more than four “insurance points” looking back 3 year will disqualify you.
• Must Not Be Afraid of Heights!
