Orion Talent and NWRA Partner to Connect Veterans with Careers in the Waste and Recycling Industry

Thursday, July 18, 2019

Orion Talent is excited to announce our partnership with the National Waste and Recycling Association (NWRA). Through this collaboration, NWRA association members will have direct access to military veteran job seekers, as well as accredited training programs.

The NWRA includes companies that manage waste, recycling and medical waste, equipment manufacturers and distributors, and a variety of other service providers. As the industry experiences a growing labor shortage and tight labor market, veterans are an excellent well trained labor pool from which to draw.

“By 2026, the solid waste collection industry will have 14,200 new jobs for collection drivers and riders; 1,900 new jobs for diesel service technicians and mechanics; and 300 new jobs for welders, cutters, solderers, and brazers. I am proud that NWRA has partnered with Orion Talent to help us attract veterans to our industry,” said Darrell Smith, NWRA President and CEO.

“We are thrilled to be partnered with the NWRA and its member organizations to help connect these great candidates with terrific companies who need quality talent in order to grow,” adds David Coe, SVP Strategic Programs for Orion Talent.
