About the Industry

A data center is typically a building, a dedicated space within a building, or a group of buildings used to house computer systems and associated components, such as telecommunications and storage systems. Data centers centralize an organization's IT operations and equipment, as well as where it stores, manages, and disseminates its data. Position Description: Compressed Air Field Service Technician
As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintain a variety of systems for customers. You will work on rotary screw and reciprocating air compressors, compressed air system components, and refrigerator dryers. You will use precision measuring tools to diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform all maintenance on these systems. You will be expected to assist in equipment start-ups, commissioning, installation, repair (routine and emergency), and customer education of their system. You will work closely with your customers on a regular basis to ensure they understand the full capabilities of their system and the benefits you provide them. You will be working at different customer locations on a daily basis. Requirements: The most important aspect a candidate can have for this role is the ability to perform analysis to solve complex problems with limited time and information. You must have strong experience with mechanical and electrical systems in an industrial environment. Candidates must possess a strong troubleshooting background. Previous experience in a field service role is desired. HVAC service technician is a plus but not required. Knowledge of air compressor systems will be advantageous as well. Additionally, strong communication skills, oral and written, are very important because you will be working with clients on a daily basis, multiple people in a customer facility, and educating a wide variety of customers (those with and without technical backgrounds). Position Descriptions: Field Service Technician
In this role you will lead the start-up, commissioning, emergency service, and regular scheduled preventative maintenance service of equipment at customer locations. This is a very key front-line service role, as you will be interacting with and directly serving customer equipment needs. You will travel to customer locations and provide the best customer equipment troubleshooting, repair, and training in operation and maintenance in the business. Every day you will communicate and coordinate information between their customers to correct equipment difficulties using superb problem-solving skills. You will provide the routine upkeep and regularly scheduled preventative maintenance and correct any equipment difficulties using superb problem-solving skills as needed to ensure equipment continually stays fully operational. Your home office responsibilities will include quality control of equipment prior to shipment and technical phone support for customers. Proficiency on systems and performance will lead to increased responsibilities for Field Service Technician promotions after your Technician Development Program and throughout your career.

Requirements: Candidates must be excellent diagnostic technicians with solid electrical, electronic and mechanical maintenance experience. Candidates must possess demonstrated technical training experience in electricity, electronics or equipment maintenance and be capable of logic and sequential development and troubleshooting (ideally with PLC-controlled systems), including proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics. All candidates must have an excellent driving record and solid credit.
Position Details:
Location: Louisville, KY
Travel Requirements: About 75%; you can realistically expect to be gone Sunday evening to Thursday evening three weeks per month. You will be home most weekends, and when you are not traveling you will be performing technical support at the call center in Louisville.

Salary: Initial starting base rate of $23/hr ($48K) + overtime (paid at 1.5X base rate after 40 hours and 2X base rate after 50 hours weekly) + quarterly profitability bonus potential (averages 6% payout of annual base salary). Once you complete training (3-6months), your pay will get bumped up to $24.50/hr. ($51K).
Realistic 1st Year W-2 ~$60K - $70K.
Realistic 2nd - 3rd Year W-2 ~ $80K - $100K (increased with more potential OT).

Training: All Technicians go through a 3 to 6-month Technician Development Program at their Headquarters and largest production plant in Louisville learning equipment and processes, to including building the equipment. You will also be sent to PLC school to get trained and certified on PLC programming and troubleshooting. Once certified Field Service Technicians are promoted to a salary position (exempt) with additional pay straight time for any work after 45 hours per work plus 1.5X straight pay or comp time for any weekend work.
