Position Details:
Title: Boiler Service Technician Apprentice
Location: San Diego, CA
Travel: Travel is required for this position to customer sites with out-of-area and possible overnight travel expected.
Shift: Full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. This position regularly requires long hours and travel work as job duties demand
Compensation: $40 - $45 p/h DOEQ with overtime (regular hours are 06:30 AM – 2:30 PM, usually 2 hours overtime a day)

Position Description:
A Boiler Service Technician – Apprentice is required to troubleshoot industrial and commercial boilers and associated burner/control systems as well as all ancillary equipment. Company represents product lines such as Cleaver Brooks, Fulton, Camus, Industrial Combustion, and others.
• Have 1 to 3 years of experience in troubleshooting and servicing boilers from light commercial to industrial water- tube and Cogeneration applications.
• Hands on ability for combustion set up and analysis as well as troubleshooting skills to determine and adjust a full range of burners from .5 to 30 Million BTU/HR input.
• Experience with Low Emission burners and related equipment is a plus
• Must have good communication skills and the ability to work in a team atmosphere.
• Accountable for the completion of internal and external inspections of boilers, burners, and associated controls that determine function ability and expected service life.
• Repair and/or replace refractory, gaskets, parts, and miscellaneous controls.
• Perform hydrostatic testing of boilers, troubleshooting and repair of industrial burners.
• Evaluate basic boiler room systems (steam and hydronic), gather information and help solve problems.
• Understanding of all types of hot water and steam boiler support equipment to include deaerators, feed systems, blow down systems, economizers and waste heat recovery equipment.
• Instrument calibration experience and education with hands on experience is a plus. Meters, loop controllers, transmitters and thermocouples are everyday instruments in use with this equipment, ideal candidate will posses knowledge in troubleshooting, installing and calibrating these types of instruments and controls utilizing the latest in calibration instruments.

Requirements/ Relevant Experience:

Skilled technicians with formal technical training and 4+ years of technical experience.
Military backgrounds in electronics, electrical maintenance, and/or mechanical component repair are all great skill sets and backgrounds that translate successfully to these roles.
Technical metrology or prior calibration experience is preferred. Experience with universal destructive testing machines and extensometers is also preferred but not required.
Preferred bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline

As Field Service Engineer you will report directly to the Service Manager and provide technical support for material testing machines. This position directly interfaces with customers involving installation, service, and repair of simple and specialized systems. Examples include but are not limited to: Automation, Robotest systems, Programming Auto Edition, Dropweight towers, Complex Medical equipment i.e., Catheter systems, Auto-Injectors, Torsion systems, and Temperature Chambers.  The Field Service Engineer will calibrate equipment to relevant standards and procedures, use and train all current test methods and evaluate the result of the reasonableness test. The Field Service Engineer will provide customer training of operation and software of company machines. Project management is a daily task, as is providing leadership on relocation jobs and large installations. The Field Service Engineer will prepare written reports of calibration results according to ISO/IEC 17025 and troubleshoot electronic & electromechanical devices from schematics and mechanical drawings.

Requirements/ Relevant Experience:

Skilled technicians with formal technical training and 4+ years of technical experience as requested.

Military backgrounds in electronics, electrical maintenance, and/or mechanical component repair are all great skill sets and backgrounds that translate successfully to these roles.  Experience in technical metrology or prior calibration experience is preferred. Experience with universal destructive testing machines and extensometers is also preferred but not required.

Position Description:
Safety and Environmental awareness is of paramount concern in all job functions within DGC Operations, LLC. The IC&E Technician position leads by example, by facilitating and nurturing a positive and open safety culture, as well as a diligent and effective environmental program. This position will support the daily IC&E activities at the facility.

Primary Duties:
In coordination with plant staff and under the direction of the Maintenance Manager:
• Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, installation and repair of plant electronic, electrical and pneumatic instrumentation and control equipment including; differential pressure (DP) level and flow instruments, pressure, vacuum and temperature instrumentation, control valves and positioners, pneumatic instruments, mass flow instruments, Distributed Control Systems (DCS),
• Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), relays and various types of analyzers incl uding Continuous Emissions Monitors (CEMS).
• In coordination with the Lead IC&E Technician review, modify, update or develop logic for control systems under the direction and approval of management and supervision.

Qualifications:
• Trade school or related military service training programs, or technical training school programs
• Two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience and education in industrial control and electrical processes. Experience with the construction, commissioning and start-up of combined cycle facilities is desired.
• Experience with testing and grounding of low, medium and high voltage
• Must be able to read, understand and interpret technical documents such as P&ID’s, electrical onelines, meter and relaying diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, logic diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Experience with modern control systems (DCS, HMI, PLC, etc). Experience with Siemens SPPA -T3000™
• Control Systems or similar controls is desired.
• Strong aptitude in math, mechanical/electrical ability and production control.
• Skill in communicating effectively.
• Experience with computer software programs such as MS word, Excel, Power Point and Computerized Maintenance Management
• Must have the manual dexterity to climb ladders / stairs, reach and operate manual and automatic valves, breakers or other devices. Twist to reach equipment surrounding desk; talk, see and hear with sufficient acuity to successfully perform all aspects of the job; perform simple grasping or fine manipulation; use telephone, computer or communicate through written means. Must be able to safely lift up to 50lbs from floor to standing position. Seeking a qualified service technician with experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing industrial equipment. Specific experience on pumps, motors, and compressors is required, experience on dewatering pumps a plus. $27-$33 per hour.

Location: Benicia, CA
Shift: Primarily Mon-Fri (Occasional weekends when traveling). Guaranteed 40 hours weekly. Typical hours when not traveling are 7am – 3:30 pm
Compensation: $45 - $52/hr ($2/ hr diff on next day with overnight travel) + Sign-on Bonus $5k (After 120 days of employment)+ $90 annual boot allowance + Up to $500 tool reimbursement + Company Uniforms + All travel expense paid

Conduct fuel, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic diagnostics and troubleshooting on equipment. Perform preventative maintenance on diesel engines. Educate customers on equipment operation and performance. Complete accurate written record of work performed. Willingness to periodically travel, as needed, to customer job sites to provide equipment training, maintenance and repair. Ability to assume leadership role while on customer job sites. Ability and willingness to mentor and train apprentice mechanics.
Requirements:
• High school diploma required; Vocational / Technical degree highly desired.
• Ability to articulate in a professional manner and explain solutions.
• Able to read electrical diagrams and DVM.
• Familiar and / or experienced with: Heavy machinery, hydraulics, electrical system repair and maintenance; CANbus/ programmable logic controllers/computers; hydraulic schematics; and working kinematics.
• Personal Tools preferred but not initially required.
