Orion Talent Receives 2019 Gold HIRE Vets Medallion Award
Cary, NC, Nov. 6, 2019 Today, the U.S. Department of Labor recognized Orion Talent, a provider of recruitment process outsourcing (RPO), military hiring solutions, and skilled talent acquisition, as a Gold Medallion recipient of the 2019 HIRE Vets Medallion Program Award during a ceremony at the U.S. Department of Labor.
Signed into law in May 2017 by President Donald J. Trump, the HIRE Vets Medallion is the only federal-level veterans’ employment award that recognizes a company or organization’s commitment to veteran hiring, retention, and professional development.
“By meeting the criteria required for a Gold Medallion Award, Orion Talent demonstrated a model of patriotism worthy of praise as well as a recognition of the value veterans bring to the workplace,” wrote J.S. Shellenberger, Acting Assistant Secretary of Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS).
The medallion is awarded to companies committed to veteran careers, including recruiting, employment, and retention. Applicants are evaluated based on a range of criteria including veteran hiring and retention rates, and the availability of veteran-specific resources, leadership programs, dedicated human resources, and compensation and tuition assistance programs.
“As a veteran myself, I am proud that Orion has achieved this recognition of the HIRE Vets Gold Medallion. Orion Talent succeeds in finding rewarding, meaningful careers for veterans, and nearly 80% of our new hires within the last year are former service members,” states Mike Starich, CEO of Orion Talent, and former Marine Corps F-4 Phantom Flight Officer and Officer Recruiter.
Orion Talent looks forward to continuing our track record of employing and mentoring veterans, while innovating in the military recruiting space. To learn more about the HIRE Vets Medallion Program, visit www.hirevets.gov.
