Salary: $35 - $45/hr + bonus based on performance!
Travel: 15%
Shift: Due to the nature of work, this position
will require scheduled and call out OT as plant operating and maintenance needs
dictate. Production schedules require 24-hour coverage, so rotating shift
schedules are required.

401(k): $0.75 company match on each dollar an employee defers in a pay period

plan in 20% increments annually, with 100% vesting after the completion of five
years of service. This is in the top tier of retirement plans I have ever seen.

Position Description:

Responsible for the performance, operations and
maintenance of simple-cycle combustion turbine technologies and generating
assets in a manner which optimizes reliability, availability and O&M costs
while maintaining the highest standards in safety, environmental, and NERC
electrical reliability. Technician must understand and apply concepts to
operate the equipment and perform plant systems analysis to take actions for
identifying, resolving and/or avoiding failure modes. In addition, the
individual performs operator rounds, troubleshooting, preventive, corrective
and predictive maintenance on plant systems/equipment to ensure safe,
efficient, and reliable plant operations, as well as enhance equipment
longevity. The incumbent is responsible for continuous improvement and
providing reliable and efficient electric power generation in compliance with
corporate safety policies and procedures, environmental, mandatory electric
reliability standards, FERC, EPA, EPD, OSHA, DOT and all applicable
governmental regulations.

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for daily plant operations and maintenance to
    ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations, complying with corporate
    policies and procedures, and all governmental regulations.
  • Must strive to achieve dispatch orders and keep GSOC
    informed of all changes in plant capability.
  • Daily activities include start-up and shutdown of the
    plant equipment, operator rounds, oversee plant physical security, clearances,
    receiving materials/inventory, maintaining 3-part communications with GSOC,
    shift log communications, and issuing applicable Operational Advisory and Event
    Reports.
  • Documenting and communicating operational or maintenance
    conditions and activities to allow the efficient and orderly transfer of
    information to others.
  • Responsible for assigned work orders and systems
    ownership.
  • Compliance with the Conduct of Maintenance Program
    engaging in the 4-week and outage planning and preparations, including
    reviewing, updating or developing Job Plans, ordering parts and updating
    inventory requirements.
  • Take appropriate corrective actions to address abnormal
    conditions, engage supervisor and other resources, and utilize MAXIMO work
    order/management processes.
  • Complete required reporting, documentation, change
    management control and VAULT drawing updates.
  • Maintain individual safe work practices while performing
    duties, including completing required training, understanding and following the
    OPC Safety Manual/Procedures.
  • Perform the function of Clearance Authority for
    establishing and maintaining safe isolation of equipment/device for the
    protection of all personnel performing work within established boundaries.
  • In addition, participate in monthly safety meetings and
    complete all required training to ensure personal compliance, safe work
    practices, operational excellence, and technical knowledge.
  • Responsible for administration of contracts as assigned
    and coordination of contract support services as required. This
    project/contract management may include capital project scoping document
    preparation, budget management, contractor oversight, status reports, and
    administrative duties as required.
  • Compliance Reporting, responsible for the preparation of
    required documentation and reports to the Corporation's local, division and
    senior management, owners, regulatory authorities and other agencies to assure
    compliance with regulations and the terms of the Management Services Agreement.


Requirements:

  • Experience in operation or maintenance of an operating
    commercial power production facility, a large natural gas facility, or
    combustion turbine driven naval vessel.
  • A highly developed analytical and technical
    problem-solving background.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate's
    degree in engineering, engineering or related physical science, or equivalent
    preferred.
  • Valid driver's license which meets the insurance
    eligibility requirements under our qualification program.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

problem solving, interpersonal communication, etc.). Experience in the
Bio-Medical field is a huge plus, but not required. Candidates must be able to
interpret electronic system schematics and flow-charts. A highly tuned
mechanical aptitude and the ability to visualize and explain situations and resolutions
are also critical in this role. Excellent customer service, communication (oral
& written), documentation, and PC skills are essential to this position's

The Shop Mechanic performs repairs and overhauls of components under the supervision of Sr. Mechanics. The Mechanic shall maintain a professional and positive attitude, perform quality workmanship, and be responsive to customer needs.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

ROLE

  • Ability to perform inspections and document results.
  • Ability to perform repairs and overhauls of components.
  • Assist in the repair and overhaul of products on marine vessels or at customer sites when necessary.
  • Assigned to shop and warehouse duties including general machining, assembly, part receiving, inventory, and miscellaneous shop duties.

TECHNICAL

  • Perform work related tasks in accordance with company product-line tech manuals.
  • Document work performed in daily service reports.
  • Document results of tests and inspections.

SAFETY

  • Perform work related tasks in accordance with published safety guidelines.
  • Wear appropriate PPE per company guidelines and in accordance with job duties.
  • Immediately report all work-related accidents or injuries to the appropriate personnel.
  • Complete annual safety training requirements.
  • Report all near miss or potential safety hazards in writing.

ADMINISTRATION

  • Provide accurate and timely reporting according to company guidelines.
  • Provide timecards, expense reports, mileage reports, project reports.
  • Maintain personal tool inventory in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintain company property according to company policies.
  • Obtain and Maintain certifications for this position based on internal Service Progression Requirements
  • Document use of Vehicle, credit cards, test equipment, laptop, and pager.

CUSTOMER SATISFACTION

  • Perform high quality workmanship.
  • Be responsive to customer needs and act as an FMD ambassador of customer.

  • Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required and at least one or more of the following:
  • Associate degree in a technical discipline
  • Three years military experience in one or more similar or equivalent product lines serviced by FMD
  • Three years relevant industry experience
  • Basic knowledge of diesel engines preferred
  • Must be able to read and interpret product line diagrams and blueprints
  • High mechanical aptitude
  • Reliable team player who exhibits professional demeanor
  • Proficiency in English language (verbal and writing)
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office
  • Travel up to 30% may be required. Must hold valid US Passport or be able to obtain one within the first 3 months upon hire.

What You'll Do

As a Field Service Technician, you will be the boots on the ground, directly supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of key FMD equipment and systems such as diesel engines, electrical controls, cranes, elevators, and more.

Qualifications:

  • Maintain pertinent operating information to provide independent troubleshooting evaluation
  • Work independently to return engine to full operating conditions
