STO Test Mechanic - CLB

1. Perform hydrostatic testing of all Shipboard, Steam and Electric Plant, Auxiliary and Weapons systems.
2. Complete and maintain the required training to perform mechanical operational testing of all Steam and Electric Plant, Hydraulic and Weapons systems which may include going on sea trials.
3. Complete and maintain the required training to perform watch standing duties to include: operate ship’s mechanical systems; roving watches required for ship safety, safety dispatch or to monitor mechanical systems required as part of the construction which may include weekend work.
4. Complete and maintain the required training to perform the duties of a safety technician which requires making systems safe for trade work utilizing Electric Boat’s Lock out/Tag out procedures.
5. Complete and maintain the required training to maintain the requirements for system cleanliness
6. Ability to follow written procedures and comply with requirements
7. Exhibit high moral character and integrity required to certify NAVSEA test requirements
8. Exhibit the ability to read and understand various system and test diagrams/drawings required for all mechanical system testing.
9. Work onboard submarines under construction during all phases of construction in all types of weather.
10. Work requires heavy lifting, pulling and climbing (ladders) and work in tight/confined spaces for extended periods of time.
11. Be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
12. Install, maintain and remove test equipment (hoses, fittings, test pumps, etc.) and have the ability to understand the different types of test equipment, fittings and hoses for each system and apply them correctly per system requirements.
13. Perform other duties assigned by their supervisor.
14. Complete and maintain the required training to use radiological dosimetry to work within radiological controlled areas when required.

• High School diploma or GED or 2+ years technical experience

• Prior formal training or job experience with mechanical systems and/or testing.

• Prior US Naval submarine system experience or prior testing experience with shipboard systems
• Experience in one or more of the following: Related military training, mechanical training from Vocational, Technical or Community College, or Type II or Universal Freon certification as defined by 40 CFR Part 82, Subpart F”. 
• Experience with/knowledge of Lock Out Tag Out procedure

Description

• Train for 12-14 weeks for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)/National Board training/certification commissions.
• 120 hours of on-the-job training with another Inspector to complete training process.
• Perform new construction, repair, alteration and jurisdiction inspections of boilers and pressure vessels as required by the American Society of Mechanical Engineering Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (ASME Code) Sections III, and National Board Code including referenced construction codes and standards of our clients.

Requirements:

• High school diploma and equivalent (Military) work experience, or a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 3-5 years of boiler and/or high-pressure steam & water system maintenance/operation experience
• 4+ years of mechanical experience with Boilers and Pressure Vessels in a power plant-Nuke or conventional MM/BT, or an SRO and/or a Steam PPWO/EOOW 3+ years
• Navy Nuke EM or ET with a minimum of 3yrs qualified SRO experience
• Quality Assurance inspections of mechanical equipment, water, and steam systems
• Boiler and/or steam system maintenance and operation
• Inspections on mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems
• NBIC Boiler Inspector Qualification a plus
• Insurance inspection service experience involving risk-based inspections and analysis
• Computer skills: Microsoft Office and web-based applications, Lotus Notes
• Clean driving record and must be able to pass a background check.

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated instruments used in histology, cytology, and hematology
• Perform field service, installation, and evaluations at customer sites
• Conduct instrument inspections, testing, and decontamination in compliance with biohazard and electrical safety standards
• Provide technical support to Field Service Technicians, BMETs, and internal teams
• Train technicians and other personnel on installation, repair, testing, and decontamination procedures
• Develop and update service manuals and conduct on-site and off-site training sessions
• Document service reports and draft service bulletins in compliance with FDA regulations

• Design and implement training programs for mechanical assembly for our full product range.

Position Overview:

The Program Master Scheduler is a strategic role responsible for developing and maintaining integrated master schedules / Sales, Inventory, Operations Planning (SIOPS) analysis across multiple complex electrical switchgear projects. This position ensures alignment between SIOPS and project delivery, driving on-time performance, resource optimization, and financial compliance.

The is key position responsible for ensuring accurate information to allow for short, medium and long-term planning across our entire operational team. This role requires a strong technical understanding of Project Management Systems and Techniques, Financial Management and a very high attention to detail.

What You'll Be Doing:

Master Schedule Management:

• Maintain a Master Schedule / SIOPS model, scalable to support the strategic growth of the business.
• Verify data accuracy used to develop capacity planning, make decisions, track progress, validate changes.
• Ensure data reflects demonstrated capacity, highlights constraints and work with peers to level-load / mitigate risk.
• Ensure alignment between engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, warehousing and project teams.
• Implement robust scheduling processes and tools to support capacity planning and resource allocation.

SIOPS Development:

• Align forecasted customer demand accurately using historical data, market trends, and sales input.
• Assess production capacity, material availability and lead times to avoid shortages or excess inventory.
• Work with Supply Chain to define optimal inventory levels for raw materials, WIP and finished goods.
• Evaluate manufacturing resources, i.e. labour, equipment and facilities against projected demand.
• Identify bottlenecks and develop mitigation strategies, e.g. overtime, subcontracting.
• Model “what-if” scenarios for demand spikes, supply disruptions or capacity changes.
• Develop contingency plans to maintain service levels under uncertainty.

Project Governance & Reporting:

• Produce, analyze and report relevant KPI's, ensuring necessary actions are taken where required.
• Analyse and identify risks associated with options built into the master plan, work with peers to identify solutions and advise on key business decision requirements to site leadership.
• Chair relevant planning / scheduling focus meetings to ensure priorities and due dates are valid, aligned and agreed across all departments.
• Provide accurate, timely schedule reports to senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Support governance standards for documentation, reporting and KPI tracking.

• Perform advanced diagnostics and fault finding in mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
