Position Description:

• Ensure compliance with facility permits and maintain relevant records according to permit conditions.
• Prepare, review, and submit quarterly and annual reports to regulatory agencies.
• Conduct compliance reviews, general risk assessments, and safety assessments to support facility operations.
• Perform EH&S inspections and maintain required logs and documentation.
• Schedule and/or perform facility EH&S training for affected employees.
• Administer EH&S compliance programs such as LOTO, Hazard Communication, Hearing Conservation, and Respiratory Protection.
• Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, wear required PPE, and address any safety hazards immediately.
Additional Notes:
• Candidates should have environmental compliance experience, preferably in a construction environment.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations is required.
• Experience holding various teams accountable for policy implementation and training teams is highly preferred.

Qualifications
Basic Required Qualifications:

• Current driver’s license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience with Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to work independently, under pressure, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Job Description

The Compliance and Approvals Manager will ensure that the facility operates in full compliance with its permits, local, state, and federal regulations. This hands-on role involves reviewing project data, conducting facility inspections, and ensuring environmental health and safety (EH&S) compliance. The manager will also manage facility approvals, sample reviews, and documentation activities. This role reports directly to senior management and provides essential support to operations through environmental compliance and safety management. 

Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

Review testing procedures, site history, and waste descriptions for contaminated soil being considered for acceptance at the facility.
Assist in the approval process for new and ongoing projects to ensure material meets acceptance criteria, maintain proper records, and comply with permit requirements.
Manage and evaluate inbound job files, approve jobs in CORE, and communicate with customers as needed.
Perform compliance sampling for treated material, review post-treatment sample data, and ensure compliance with permit standards.
Maintain detailed compliance records and prepare quarterly/annual reports for regulatory agencies.
Conduct EH&S inspections, maintain logs, and schedule/perform required EH&S training for employees.
Ensure compliance with EH&S programs, such as LOTO, Hazard Communication, and Respiratory Protection.
Promote safe working practices, report hazards, and enforce all EH&S policies. 
Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or Environmental Health and Safety.
Experience: 2-5 years in an Environmental, Health and Safety role.
Skills: Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA), excellent verbal and written communication, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
