Description
As an Electrical Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safe and reliable operation of terminal, pipeline, and station electrical systems. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, installing, and commissioning electrical, instrumentation, and control systems that support pipeline and terminal operations.
The successful candidate will support maintenance and operational objectives through preventative and corrective maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. This role is ideal for candidates with industrial electrical, instrumentation, controls, power generation, oil & gas, pipeline, military electrical, or automation backgrounds who enjoy troubleshooting complex systems and working in field environments.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical maintenance activities in compliance with company operating procedures and regulatory requirements
- Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices
- Serve as an emergency response first responder as required
- Complete all required safety, technical, Operator Qualification (OQ), and regulatory training programs
- Develop and execute lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and routine job plans
- Maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and instrumentation equipment including:
- PLC systems
- VFDs
- 24VDC control systems
- 480V electrical systems
- Instrumentation and measurement systems
- Motor control systems
- Petroleum quality systems
- Maintain substations, terminal systems, pipeline electrical equipment, and associated controls
- Utilize Maximo or other maintenance management systems to document maintenance activities
- Collaborate with Electrical Technicians, Mechanical Technicians, Technical Specialists, and Supervisors to efficiently plan and execute maintenance activities
- Maintain terminal and station records, drawings, and documentation
- Submit as-built drawings and support drawing updates through engineering and drafting teams
- Support construction projects through design reviews, HAZOP participation, pre-bid meetings, equipment installation, startup, and commissioning activities
- Communicate effectively with Control Center personnel, Operations teams, Maintenance teams, contractors, and stakeholders
- Support site housekeeping, security, and operational excellence initiatives
- Assist maintenance teams at various locations throughout the region as needed
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
- High School Diploma or GED
- Technical or vocational electrical education
- Minimum 2 years of industrial electrical, instrumentation, controls, automation, maintenance, or related experience
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Valid driver's license with a strong driving record
- Ability to participate in on-call schedules and respond to emergencies as required
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Electrical Journeyman License
- Completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program
- Industrial HVAC/R experience
- Experience supporting crude oil pipelines, pumping stations, terminals, or delivery facilities
- Experience working with:

- Flow meters
- PLCs
- MCCs
- UPS systems
- Instrumentation systems
- Oil & Gas, Pipeline, Petrochemical, Power Generation, Utility, or Industrial Manufacturing experience
