The Best Cities to Find Work in 2018
Are you transitioning out of the military and looking for a new civilian career? If you are considering relocating for a new career, read on to learn more about this year’s best cities to find work in the U.S. WalletHub compared data from 182 different cities in the U.S. with two key dimensions in mind: “job market” and “socioeconomic”. They then judged these dimensions using 26 different metrics including “job opportunities”, “unemployment rate”, “median annual income”, and “average commute time,” resulting in a total score out of 100 possible points.
2018 is shaping up to be a record-setting year, with unemployment reaching its lowest point in a couple of decades. Depending on the city, about a third of employers will be looking to add manpower this year.
Here is a list of a few of the companies that exclusively hire military through Orion, and a sample of positions for which we are recruiting, in the best cities to find jobs in 2018.

According to Your Peers
"I heard about Orion Talent from a friend who used your company to get a job as well. I was a machinery technician for the Coast Guard for ten years. My background really helped out in getting my job. The training really paid for itself. My recruiters were very helpful in finding the job and setting up the interview.
Orion was a big help for me in finding my current opportunity. I have recommended Orion Talent to a few of my buddies who have recently left the military and are looking for a new start. Thank you for your help!" - Javier Torres, Maintenance Mechanic
"My Orion recruiter was the very best! Getting out of the military is a huge wake-up call; pursuing a career once out can be very stressful. My recruiter was extremely persistent, in a good way, to help me find the best career. If I didn't listen to him or heed his advice, I would not be currently emailing you from my place of employment.
I now hold a position of "Critical Environmental Controls Tech.” The one major parallel is that my department is 95% Veteran Based, which makes this career move 100 times easier.
Orion went above and beyond my needs. I don't believe there is any competition. Orion takes the time to talk and look into individual needs. I just couldn't be happier with the services that were provided by Orion. Without Orion, my family and I would still be in a financial struggle, second-guessing my departure from the Military. Thanks, Orion!" - Kyle Harrington, Critical Environmental Controls Tech.
"The Orion Team and my Recruiter did an excellent job. I had been struggling in the job market for some time; I submitted many applications to places where I was offered a relatively low salary because of my career path, and I was frustrated, but somehow at the hiring conference I found there were positions for which I could interview that would take advantage of my circumstances. I loved the hiring conference, I received two offers from two good companies, it was well worth my time and I would highly recommend it to anyone." - Jacob Wittbrodt, Service Line Contractor
