Description

As an Automation Specialist, you will be installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting industrial and commercial Building Automation Systems. You will become the resident expert on the Building Automation System that integrates the following systems through a graphics interface program using the Insight software package:

HVAC/Mechanical; Fire/Life Safety; Security/Access; Industrial Control; Data Centers; Lighting; Power Management; Emergency Control

You will become an expert on computer information systems, electronic controls, and mechanical systems. Siemens Smart Infrastructure is a performance-based company, which means they will evaluate you based on performance not time in grade. As a System Specialist II, you will have leadership responsibilities and will be training Specialist I levels. Your career progression is into a project engineer or project manager role and then into operational management.

Job Description:

The candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and repair next generation electric Light Rail Vehicle that are delivered from the OEM to the local authority. The technician will need to be familiar with electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems


Responsibilities:

  • Commissioning and troubleshooting light rail vehicles, locomotives and/or coaches.
  • Perform, with the use of mechanical drawings, schematics and location circuit plans, electrical and mechanical repairs of various components.
  • Use laptops with subsystem software to troubleshoot and test electrical, hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems.
  • Diagnose electrical malfunctions in passenger rail control circuits and components, assess the nature of problems, and identify corrective action needed
  • Read, interpret, and understand written or electronic information, maintain the information, and compile reports
  • Communicate in a team, to the site lead and colleagues, verbally and in writing, technical information, job procedure recommendations, improvements, and other work-related information.
  • Understand and follow company and industry safety rules, practices, and procedures.
  • Implementation of Field Modifications (FMI's) to improve the quality of our product.
  • Document failures, part exchanges, implementation of FMI's and your performed work in Commissioning and Warranty database.
  • Receive and send out failed parts for repair. RMA.
  • Work with shop machines and hand tools.


Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Siemens Mobility is looking for strong industrial electronics technicians with a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a relevant field (ideal military candidates include Navy Nuclear-trained ETs, Avionics Techs, Conventional ETs, and GSEs)
  • Post-secondary graduate from technical or trade school
  • Must be proficient in reading and working with electrical, pneumatic, mechanical circuit diagrams to troubleshooting failures in the affected system
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent customer skills, and ability to work well in a team
  • Individual must possess a valid Driver's license in good standing.
  • Individual must be at least 21 years of age to participate in the required Siemens vehicle plan.

Job Description:

Interested in learning how to work on next generation Siemens Charger locomotives and Siemens Venture single level coaches? The state-of-the-art locomotives are diesel electric with Tier 4 4,400 hp diesel engines. Our vehicles are connecting cities all over the United States and we are working together with the customer on site to achieve the main goals for the warranty period. This job will train you on how to troubleshoot, repair, and perform field modifications to achieve a high customer satisfaction and improve reliability. Siemens is looking for someone who enjoys working hands on and interested in learning more about electrical/mechanical systems.

You will be required to begin work at various remotes sites for the first 6 months and visit Sacramento during this time frame for training. Must be willing to travel occasionally to other sites for short periods as needed.


Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with customers on achieving contractual goals.
  • Commissioning and Warranty of locomotives and/or coaches.
  • Troubleshooting and analysis of failures on locomotives or coaches.
  • Perform with the use of mechanical drawings, schematics and location circuit plans, electrical and mechanical repairs of various components.

  • Working full hands-on.
  • Read, interpret, and understand written or electronic information to identify the Root cause of a failure and compile reports for your site lead and warranty manager.
  • Understand and follow company and industry safety rules, practices, and procedures.
  • Implementation of Field Modifications (FMI's) to improve the quality of our product.
  • Document failures, part exchanges, implementation of FMI's and your performed work in our Commissioning and Warranty data base.
  • Communicate in a team, to the site lead and colleagues, verbally and in writing, technical information, job procedure recommendations, improvements, and other work-related information.
  • Receive and send out failed parts for repair, including acquiring the return RMA and setup shipping


Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma (or GED)
  • Individual must possess a valid Driver's license in good standing.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics, maintenance, repair, and FMI documents
  • Must be willing and open to working various shifts and days off
  • Must have basic computer skills and work in Microsoft Office. SAP is a plus.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work in team
  • Candidate must be able to work independently and without much supervision.
  • Ability to work safely, report hazards, and recognize risks
  • Strong Electrical, Electronics, or Electro-Mechanical experience
