What You'll Do

  • Lay out workpieces, mark reference points, and plan machining processes for one-off components.
Precision Measurement & Documentation
  • Inspect and verify machined features using micrometers, gauges, calipers, indicators, and precision metrology tools.
  • Record inspection data and measurements to ensure compliance with critical tolerances.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Planning to resolve machining issues.
Quality, Safety, & Workmanship
  • Adhere to strict submarine and Navy quality standards.

Must-Have Skills and Experience

  • Ability to perform advanced setups and operate CNC and manual machine tools independently.

About the Role

The Welder II supports marine and shipboard operations for Oceaneering’s Marine Services Division (MSD). This role involves performing complex welding and fabrication work in high-consequence environments that demand precision, sound technical judgment, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards. Overtime may be required, and travel may be required for up to 75% of the year.


What You’ll Do

· Perform welding using TIG (GTAW), Stick (SMAW), MIG (GMAW), and/or Flux-Cored (FCAW) processes
· Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings
· Fabricate and repair structural and piping components
· Select appropriate materials, joint configurations, and welding parameters

About the Role
