At the company, we are powering the future with advanced nuclear technology. The Senior Electronics Engineer will play a key role in designing, deploying, and supporting next-generation electronics for motor controls, instrumentation, and electric machinery.
This role is highly hands-on and combines power electronics design, embedded systems, manufacturing support, and R&D. You will collaborate across disciplines, lead technical projects, mentor engineers, and interact with company leadership and the U.S. Department of Energy to deliver safe, reliable, and innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Design and deploy advanced control and drive electronics for company facilities in Oak Ridge, TN and Piketon, OH
- Develop complete electronics design packages, including schematics, simulations, testing, and documentation
- Perform power electronics circuit design, embedded systems development, and system integration
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex electronics and control system issues in operational environments
- Apply analytical methods, simulations, and industry standards to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective designs
- Lead projects and mentor junior engineers
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams
- Interface with company leadership and the U.S. Department of Energy
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 6+ years of experience in industrial electronics engineering or equivalent
- Strong background in power electronics and electric machinery (PEEM) design
- 1+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, embedded systems design, or R&D
- Technical expertise spanning low-voltage DC through three-phase power systems
- Proficiency with engineering tools such as PSPICE, MATLAB, Simulink, and OrCAD
- Strong communication, presentation, and computational skills
- Ability to obtain (or currently hold) a U.S. Department of Energy “Q” security clearance

- Experience supporting high-reliability or regulated industrial environments
- Background in nuclear, energy, or advanced manufacturing systems
- Experience mentoring or leading technical engineering teams
