A VA loan is a mortgage loan that is guaranteed by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. Of the 20+ million active duty service members and veterans with mortgages, less than 6% are utilizing their VA mortgage benefit, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. BBMC's mission is to increase that number exponentially, as they believe that too few qualified veterans and active-duty service members use their VA home loan benefits.
Colin Gregg, Sales Training Manager and Tony Gatliff, Vice President of Mortgage Lending - both from BBMC - recently joined Orion’s podcast to discuss everything you need to know about the VA loan. In this two-part episode, Colin and Tony cover loan eligibility, debunk the top 5 myths about VA loans, provide resources for getting started, and tell you how to win a mortgage-free year through BBMC.
It’s a common misconception that you need perfect credit to qualify for a mortgage loan, keeping many would-be homeowners bound to years of renting. “Certainly you need to have established credit to borrow hundreds of thousands of dollars. But with a VA loan, the guidelines are significantly more relaxed. We’ve been able to help a large group of clients that thought they needed to have much better credit to qualify for a home loan. The VA loan is designed to encourage home ownership,” explains Colin.
With VA loans, the lender makes all the difference. BBMC's expertise and leadership shines through everything it does to assist those who have or are currently serving in the nation's Armed Forces. Listen to Part 1 and Part 2 of the podcast to learn more about the VA loan and BBMC’s lending services.
