Qualifications

Position Summary

The Aluminum Fitter is responsible for fabricating, laying out, positioning, aligning, and fitting of aluminum components for both new construction and repair projects. The role involves interpreting blueprints and specifications to assemble various aluminum structures accurately and efficiently, while maintaining high standards of safety and quality throughout the process.

Responsibilities

  • Position, align, fit parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, and using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.
  • Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.
  • Tack-weld fitted parts together.
  • Lay out and examine Aluminum stock or work pieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met.

Position Summary:

We are seeking experienced Machinists with strong capabilities in operating CNC and manual horizontal or vertical boring mills. Responsibilities

  • Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits.

About the Role

PRL Industries is hiring experienced Manual and CNC Machinists to support the expansion of its machining operations in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. This role focuses on production machining and machine setup using manual and CNC mills, lathes, and boring machines to produce precision components used in submarine programs.

Machinists will work from blueprints and technical drawings to machine parts from castings, bar stock, and other materials while maintaining extremely tight tolerances and high quality standards. These roles are production-focused and do not require full programming responsibilities.

What You'll Do

  • Set up and operate manual and/or CNC milling machines, boring machines, and lathes
  • Machine parts from castings, bar stock, and other materials to customer specifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and written machining procedures

This program serves as the entry point into a world-class field service organization. Field Service Engineers travel to power plants across the United States to perform maintenance and upgrades on some of the largest electrical generation machinery in the world, including gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators.
During the first year, candidates complete structured classroom and laboratory training in Orlando combined with on-the-job training at multiple customer sites nationwide. After completing the training phase, engineers supervise technicians and mechanics during maintenance outages while serving as the primary customer contact during turbine generator equipment service events. Location: Orlando, FL, Houston, TX, Dallas, TX, Chattanooga, TN, Boston, MD, and Pittsburgh/Philadelphia, PA. stipend will be provided during classroom phases (typically 6 weeks) in Orlando.

Engineers benefit from approximately four months off each year during December, January, June, and July.


Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
  • Heavy maintenance experience and strong leadership ability
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to supervise teams and coordinate work during large equipment maintenance outages
  • Ability to travel extensively and work extended hours while deployed

Requirements
