Description

The Chemical/Electrochemical Technician is responsible for supporting the build, testing, and optimization of advanced CO2 conversion processes in a laboratory environment. This hands-on role works closely with chemists and engineers to execute electrochemical testing, fabricate and construct cells, coat electrodes, and prepare reagents and material samples. The technician will operate and maintain testing equipment, calibrate laboratory instruments, conduct routine and specialized experiments (including GC, HPLC, chronoamperometry, and chronopotentiometry), and properly document procedures and results. This position also supports scale-up activities, process optimization efforts, and ensures strict adherence to laboratory safety and control standards in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:
• 6+ years Navy Nuclear ELT or Nuclear Electronics experience
• Minimum 1 year experience in an analytical or wet lab environment
• Strong understanding of laboratory equipment and good laboratory practices
• Experience handling hazardous materials safely
• Competent data analysis skills (Excel required)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple experiments simultaneously

Requirements:
• Ability to work in a laboratory setting following all safety and compliance standards
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment
• Ability to document technical procedures and experimental results accurately
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup-style environment

Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry, or related field
• Experience with cell or battery characterization
• Experience supporting scale-up or process optimization efforts
• Experience with GC, HPLC, chronoamperometry, or chronopotentiometry
