About the Role

We're looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to operate large machining centers and help produce complex fabrications for submarines and other projects. You'll run machines, maintain and edit CNC programs, inspect parts, and mentor less experienced machinists—all while supporting continuous improvement in our manufacturing processes.

What You'll Do

• Review engineering prints and select appropriate tooling.
• Operate large CNC machining centers (VTL or HBM) and perform machine setups.
• Edit, maintain, and optimize CNC programs.
• Inspect and measure machined components using hand gages, CMM, and other tools.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives in machining processes.
• Train and develop less experienced AT&F machinists.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure production goals, quality, and timelines are met.

Must-Have Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of experience in component CNC machining, preferably with lower run quantities.
• Proficient in interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings.
• Applied experience with inspection methods, including hand gages and CMM.
• Proven ability to develop the skills of other machinists.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and CNC programming (Fanuc, Siemens, G code).
• Overhead crane operation and rigging experience.
• Basic computer skills for email and web-based communications.

• Location: Remote – Candidates must reside east of the Rocky Mountains and within 1 hour of a major airport.
• Excludes residents of TX, OK, LA, MS, and AL.
• Schedule: Monday–Friday travel, home most weekends
• Compensation: $75,000–$85,000 base + estimated 500 hours of overtime annually
• Travel: Up to 80% (Monday–Friday travel), with occasional weekend work for key projects

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a related field, preferably with hands-on experience in testing, installation, and maintenance of DC power systems and large stationary batteries used in Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS), ranging from 24VDC to 600VDC.
• Prior military experience as an Electronics Technician (ET) or Fire Controlman (FC) is highly valued, particularly with a strong background in Radar and UPS systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, troubleshooting procedures, and safety protocols related to high-voltage DC systems.

You will complete preventive maintenance in accordance with customer-specific service programs and maintain detailed documentation of all work performed, including parts usage and service records. This position requires Stanley equipment updates and ANSI A156.10 standards, as well as keeping technical manuals and documentation up to date. You will be responsible for maintaining company vehicles, tools, and equipment in proper working conditions, managing service vehicle parts inventory, and ensuring all equipment is tested and safety-checked before leaving job sites. A professional appearance and high-quality workmanship are always expected, along with delivering excellent customer service and maintaining positive customer relationships. You may also assist with training and mentoring other technicians on installation and service methods.
