The Gas Turbine Technician is responsible for the operation, inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial gas turbine units and associated auxiliary systems supporting natural gas compression or power generation facilities. This role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient turbine performance while maintaining compliance with regulatory, environmental, and company standards.

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
• 3+ years of experience maintaining industrial gas turbines or large rotating equipment
• Strong understanding of turbine auxiliary systems including fuel gas, lube oil, cooling, and starting systems
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and OEM manuals
• Experience with vibration monitoring and performance trending
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Valid driver’s license

Requirements
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on gas turbine systems
• Support combustion inspections, hot section inspections, and major overhauls
• Inspect and maintain fuel systems, lube oil systems, cooling systems, and starting systems
• Troubleshoot turbine performance issues including vibration, temperature spreads, and combustion instability
• Replace and maintain components such as fuel nozzles, igniters, thermocouples, filters, seals, and bearings
• Monitor operating parameters and condition monitoring systems
• Coordinate with instrumentation and electrical personnel on turbine control systems
• Support turbine startups, shutdowns, and emergency response events
• Assist OEM representatives during inspections and outages
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and compliance records
• Manage maintenance programs to ensure compliance with service agreements
• Follow all safety and environmental regulations and standards
• Participate in safety training and regulatory inspections
• Respond to emergency callouts within required timeframes
• Work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces

Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
• Experience with turbine control systems such as Mark VIe or similar platforms
• Commercial driver’s license or ability to obtain one
• Strong leadership and organizational skills

This Field Service Technician role supports the installation, maintenance, and repair of Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) and Marine Growth Prevention (anti-fouling) systems onboard commercial and government vessels including cruise ships, tankers, tugboats, and U.S. Navy/Coast Guard ships.

Technicians work both in the field and in shipyards, supporting drydock operations and performing pier side troubleshooting. This is a hands-on role requiring electrical, mechanical, and troubleshooting skills in marine environments.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain corrosion control systems onboard vessels
  • Support installation and replacement of electronic equipment, anodes, and reference cells during drydock periods
  • Perform wiring and electrical work on systems up to 480V / three-phase power
  • Conduct system testing and diagnostics using industry-standard tools
  • Perform pier-side service calls for inspections, troubleshooting, and system checks
  • Supervise and assist shipyard personnel during installations and repairs
  • Prepare tools, equipment, and materials for field mobilization
  • Complete service reports, inspection documentation, and test records
  • Assist with shop operations including pre-delivery checks and equipment preparation

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education

  • Some shipboard or marine experience required
  • Basic understanding of electricity and electronics
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose issues, and implement corrective actions
  • Experience using electrical testing equipment and tools
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work independently in field environments
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience working with corrosion control systems or marine equipment
