Happy Independence Day from Orion Talent

Tuesday, July 2, 2019

Independence Day is a special day in which we honor our nation’s independence on July 4, 1776 with the signing of the Declaration of Independence, declaring the original 13 colonies as part of a new nation - the United States of America. On our nation’s 243rd birthday, we would like to take a moment to reflect on why we celebrate this holiday.

When Thomas Jefferson penned the idea of our unalienable rights - life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness - he put in motion a notion that has led to America becoming the land of the free and the home of the brave. Our armed forces help to protect those rights, and we honor the sacrifices that they have made and continue to make to uphold our nation’s values.

This Independence Day, let us remember what our forefathers fought so bravely to attain:

"Liberty has never come from the government. Liberty has always come from the subjects of it. The history of liberty is a history of resistance." - Woodrow Wilson, 28th President of the United States

This year, Independence Day will be celebrated in our nation’s capital with an annual parade, a Capitol Fourth Concert by the National Symphony Orchestra, and a “Salute to America” fireworks display, including music, military demonstrations, and flyovers.

From the entire Orion team, we wish you and your family a safe and happy Independence Day!
