RedLine Athletics is a Youth Athletic Training Center that aims to help young athletes excel in their sport. The company began franchising its operations in 2013, led by John Leonesio, Founder of Massage Envy, The Joint Chiropractic, and many other successful franchises. The company is looking to expand its business into new territories and is seeking motivated military veterans to join its team as franchise owners.
Harry Sisson, Army veteran and owner of multiple RedLine franchise licenses, recently joined Orion’s From the Battlefield to the Boardroom podcast to discuss his background and the franchise opportunity with RedLine Athletics.
Listen to the interview:
Harry, a Project Manager with an Engineering and Architecture Services firm, recently purchased 13 licenses to open RedLine Athletics franchises in Tennessee. Harry’s interest in RedLine Athletics was personal before it turned into a business opportunity. “My son started playing sports later in his childhood and I found that a lot of the other kids on the team had been playing together for 3-4 years and had developed the fundamentals and athleticism, and he was behind the power curve,” explained Harry.
After hearing a radio commercial for RedLine Athletics, Harry contacted the company to hear more about the franchise opportunity. “One option was to purchase a single training facility and operate it here in Knoxville. Or, I could purchase a region and develop it by selling franchise licenses to other entrepreneurs who wanted to be business owners,” said Harry. “I chose the Regional Development route and purchased 13 licenses - which I currently have and they are available to other entrepreneurs - and i’m in the process of opening my own training center in Knoxville,” he explained.
The RedLine Athletics business model is designed to support franchise owners from start to finish, providing guidance in the areas of construction and equipment, training, marketing, and more. “They provide a checklist that tells you everything you need to know about the franchise, all the way through grand opening. There’s also support from me as a Regional Developer, and from Corporate to help with the operation of your training center,” explains Harry.
As an Army veteran himself, Harry is looking for other veterans to join the RedLine franchising team. “I can’t think of anyone better suited than service members. They’re driven, success oriented, logical, smart, they’re used to planning, executing, and training other service members. It seems like a perfect fit to me,” he explained.
The company is seeking franchise owners in many states including Colorado, Arizona, Southern California, Virginia, Texas, Illinois, Georgia, Ohio, Oregon, Missouri, and Michigan. Along with being on the SBA approved list of franchises, there are other financing options available. “We currently have about 25 open training centers and another 31 that we should have on board by the end of this year. We’re growing really fast,” Harry said.
