Summary

A Controls Specialist (CS) is responsible for installation, commissioning, scheduled and emergency service on products serviced by Fairbanks Morse Defense commensurate with appropriate certification. The CS is required to establish, promote, and maintain excellent rapport with all customers, co-workers, sales representatives, and others as appropriate. Principle Duties and Responsibilities

ROLE
  • Controls Specialist conducts installation, testing, and troubleshooting services for the controls systems on FMD engine lines 
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Ability to diagnose problems and develop solutions for qualified engines
  • Can work independently on qualified engines
  • May occasionally be assigned to shop duties such as general machining, part inspections, assembly, testing, and warehouse.

TECHNICAL
  • Keep current on Engineering Change Orders, Field Service Change Notices and Service Information Letters

SAFETY

An important component of your Total Compensation is a Weekly Productivity/Incentive Bonus Plan that currently averages 140% of your weekly pay (and that percentage is expected to increase significantly over the next year). Raises are excellent and dependent on how hard you want to work on getting maintenance qualifications completed; hard charging technicians can earn up to a 21.5% raise (depending on what you qualify) within the first year or so for meeting qualifications on multiple plant equipment. Shift: 12-hour rotating shift schedule. Position Description
