Veterans Day Discounts to Thank You for Your Service

Today marks Veterans Day, a federal holiday to commemorate and honor all those who have served in the US military. The holiday coincides with Armistice Day, which is celebrated in other parts of the world to honor the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I, ending hostilities at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918.

Many restaurants and stores offer freebies, discounts, and special offers today and throughout the week. A list of a few offers from restaurants, retail stores, as well as travel and recreational discounts are below, and you can see a full list here.

Restaurant Specials:

7-Eleven -- Active-duty, retired, veteran, guard, reservists and family members get a free coffee or Big Gulp on November 11. (7-Eleven app and Veterans Advantage membership required.)

Another Broken Egg Cafe -- Veterans and active-duty service members can enjoy a free Patriot French Toast Combo and coffee on November 11.

Applebee's -- Veterans and active-duty military receive a free meal from a special menu on November 11.

Bob Evans -- Veterans and active-duty military personnel receive a free meal from a select menu on November 11.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. -- Military personnel and their families receive 20% off on food and retail purchases on November 11.

California Pizza Kitchen – Veterans and active-duty military receive a complimentary meal from a special menu on November 11.

Chicken Salad Chick -- On November 11, veterans and active-duty military will receive a free Chick Special and Regular Drink.

Chili's -- Veterans and active military service members get a free meal from a select menu on November 11.

Chipotle -- Active-duty military, reserves, national guard, military spouses and retired military get a buy-one-get-one (BOGO) deal on November 11.

Chop House -- On November 11, active-duty and retired service members get 50% off any dine-in lunch or dinner entree.

Cicis Pizza -- Active and retired military get a free unlimited buffet on November 11.

City Barbecue -- Veterans and active-duty military get a free sandwich, two sides, and a regular beverage on November 11.

Cracker Barrel -- Veterans get a complimentary slice of Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake or a Pumpkin Pie Latte on November 11.

Denny's -- Veterans and military personnel get a free Build Your Own Grand Slam on November 11, from 5 a.m. to noon.

Dunkin' Donuts -- On November 11, veterans and active-duty military receive a free donut at participating locations.

Famous Dave's -- On November 11, veterans and active-duty military personnel will receive a free 2 Meat Salute.

Fatz Cafe -- Veterans and active military get a free World Famous Calabash Chicken basket on November 11. And from November 1 through 30, veterans and active military members will receive 20% off their entrée.

Firebirds Wood Fired Grill -- Dine with a veteran or active-duty service member on November 11 and their lunch or dinner is free.

Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers -- Veterans and current military personnel get a free combo meal card on November 11 that can used until November 30, 2019.

Friendly's -- Veterans and active-duty military get a free breakfast, lunch or dinner from a limited menu on November 11.

Golden Corral -- Golden Corral Restaurants' Military Appreciation Night free dinner will be available on November 11, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Military retirees, veterans, active-duty, National Guard and Reserves are all welcome.

Houlihan's -- Veterans and active-duty military get a complimentary meal from a select menu on November 11.

Huddle House -- Active-duty, retired, and veteran military members get a free order of Sweet Cakes November 8 through 11.

K&W Cafeterias -- Veterans and active-duty get a free meal on November 11 from 11 am until closing.

Little Caesars -- Veterans and active military members receive a free $5 HOT-N-READY Lunch Comb from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on November 11.

Logan's Roadhouse -- On November 11 between 3 and 6 pm, veterans and military personnel receive a free meal from the American Roadhouse menu.

Macaroni Grill -- Veterans and active military receive a free Mom's Ricotta Meatballs + Spaghetti on November 11.

McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants -- Veterans, National Guard, Gold Star parents and Gold Star spouses can enjoy a free entrée from a special menu on November 10.

Menchie's -- Veterans and active-duty military will receive their first six ounces free on November 11.

Mission BBQ -- Veterans and active-duty military get a free sandwich and cake on November 11.

O'Charley's – Active-duty military and veterans can enjoy a free meal on November 11. 

Old Country Buffet -- On November 11, veterans get a free buffet plus a non-bottled beverage at participating restaurants.

On the Border -- On November 11, active and retired service members receive a free meal from a select menu at participating locations.

Outback Steakhouse -- Veterans get 20% off November 8 through 11.

Red Lobster -- Veterans, active-duty military and reservists get a free appetizer or dessert from a select menu on November 11.

Red Robin – Veterans and active-duty military get a free Tavern Double Burger with Bottomless Steak Fries on November 11.

Rodizio Grill -- Veterans eat free November 11 through 14 with the purchase of at least one Adult Full Rodizio meal at participating locations.

Ryan's -- On November 11, veterans get a free buffet plus a non-bottled beverage at participating restaurants.

Sheetz -- On November 11, veterans and active-duty military personnel get a free 6 inch turkey sub and a regular size fountain drink. Sheetz locations offering car washes will also provide a free car wash to veterans and active-duty military.

Shoney's -- Veterans and active-duty military service members get a free All You Care To Eat, Freshly Prepared Breakfast Bar on November 11 until 11 am.

Smashburger -- Veterans and active-duty military get a free double burger on November 11 with any purchase.

Smoothie King -- On November 11, veterans and active-duty military get a free 20 oz. smoothie.

Starbucks -- Veterans, active-duty service members and military spouses get a free tall (12 fl oz) brewed coffee, at participating stores on November 11.

TCBY -- Veterans and active military personnel get their first 6 oz. of frozen yogurt for free on November 11 with valid proof of service at participating locations. 

Texas Roadhouse -- Veterans and active-duty military get a free lunch on November 11 from 11 am to 4 pm.

White Castle -- Veterans and active-duty military receive a free Combo Meal or Breakfast Combo Meal on November 11.

Wild Wing Cafe -- Veterans get 6 wings or nuggets in your favorite sauce with a purchase of a drink on November 11 at participating locations.

Yard House -- Veterans and active duty military receive a complimentary appetizer on November 11.

Retail Discounts:

Academy Sports + Outdoors -- Veterans, active-duty service members and their immediate family members get 10% off their entire purchase in-store and online from October 27 through November 11.

Amazon -- November 6 through 11, active-duty, veterans, National Guard and Reserve personnel can sign up for a year of Prime membership for $79 ($40 in savings). New and existing Prime members can take advantage of this promotion.

Brides Across America -- Brides Across America holds a wedding gown giveaway for military in partnership with bridal salons across the country in November. Qualifying brides register to attend the event at a participating bridal salon by completing the registration form and paying a $40 fee. Enterprise Car Sales -- Active-duty military members, veterans and their families get a Firestone Prepaid Maintenance Package with any used vehicle purchase during the entire month of November.

Eyemart Express -- Veterans, active- and non-active duty military personnel, and their families receive 20% off prescription eyewear purchases when they visit a store through November 16.

Food Lion -- Active-duty military, veterans and their families get a 10% discount on November 11.

Goodyear Auto Service -- Military members get free car care checks and free tire installation. Effective November 8 through 16, the free car care checks will include checks on tires, brakes, alignment, battery, wiper blades and shocks and struts. Active and retired military members will also receive free tire installation during the promotion period, creating a minimum savings of $25 per tire.

Great Clips – On November 11, veterans and current military members can visit a Great Clips salon to receive either a free haircut or the free haircut card to use at a later date. Non-military customers can purchase a service on Veterans Day and get a free haircut card to give to a veteran you know. Haircuts are redeemable until Dec. 31.

Home Depot -- Home Depot offers a 10% discount to all veterans on November 11. Home Depot offers the 10% discount year round to for active duty and retirees.

Kohl’s -- Active and former military personnel, veterans and their families get a 30% off in-store discount November 7 through 11.

Publix -- Veterans, active military personnel and their families save 10% on groceries on November 11.

Rack Room Shoes -- Military personnel and their dependents get a 10% discount off entire purchase on November 11.

Sheetz -- On November 11, veterans and active-duty military personnel get a free 6 inch turkey sub and a regular size fountain drink. Sheetz locations offering car washes will also provide a free car wash to veterans and active-duty military.

Sleep Number -- Military and veteran families receive an extra $100 off select smart beds and adjustable bases with promo code through November 17.

SmileDirectClub -- Active military members and veterans get $175 off their clear aligner purchase November 10 through 14.

Sport Clips -- Participating locations are offering veterans free haircuts on November 11.

Swarovski -- Veterans receive 10% off an in store purchase, November 8 through 11.

Target -- Active-duty military, veterans, Reservists and their dependents can receive a 10% discount on a purchase made in-store and online from November 3 through 11.

T-Mobile -- As Veterans Day approaches, T-Mobile announced that, starting November 1, active-duty military and veterans can get 50% off the latest Samsung smartphones, including the new Samsung Galaxy Note10 and Note10+. This is in addition to their Magenta Military plan, which includes 50% off family lines, available to military, veterans and their families year-round.

Tuft & Needle -- Veterans, active-duty military members and their family members get a discount of $175 off their Mint and Hybrid mattresses. This offer is valid through November 11 online and in store.

Verizon -- As Veterans Day approaches, Verizon announced that active-duty military members, Reservists, cadets, Gold Star families and veterans can receive a 1-year membership of Amazon Prime when they add a new line of service. These customers are also eligible for Wireless and Fios discounts. The offer will run from October 24 to December 2. This is in addition to their year-round discounts on plans and accessories.

Walgreens -- Veterans, military personnel and their families get a 20% discount on eligible regular priced items November 8 through 11 in store with a Walgreens Balance Rewards card and proof of service.

Travel and Recreation Discounts:

9/11 Memorial and Museum -- Veterans will receive free Museum admission as well as half price museum tickets for up to two family members from November 8 to 14.

AMC Theatres -- Active-duty service members and veterans who purchase a ticket using their AMC Stubs membership can enjoy a free large popcorn November 8 through 11.

Birmingham Zoo -- Veterans, active and retired military and their dependents will receive free admission on November 9 until 11.

Boston Duck Tours -- Veterans and active military ride free from November 11 through 15. Dependents ride for $10 per person (plus 5% CCF surcharge). 

Cincinnati Zoo -- All members of the military will receive free admission to the Zoo on Veterans Day. The offer also allows military personnel to purchase up to six (6) half-price admission tickets for members of their immediate family.

Colonial Williamsburg -- Military families can receive a free admission ticket during Veterans Day weekend.

Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden -- Veterans get free admission on November 11.

Knott's Berry Farm -- Active-duty military and veterans receive free admission for themselves and 1 guest from November 3 through 21 and December 2 through 19. Additional discounted tickets may be purchased at the ticket booth.

La Quinta by Wyndham -- From October 22 through December 5, any current or retired military personnel, veterans and their families who book and stay at La Quinta hotels in the U.S. and Canada can take advantage of a 15% off military discount.

LEGOLAND Florida – From November 1 through 22, veterans receive free admission. Veterans can also purchase theme park tickets for up to six guests at a 50% discount on the same dates.

Lucky Strike Entertainment -- Active, inactive and retired military personnel get complimentary 1 hour of bowling, as well as a burger and beer for $10 on November 11.

Monticello -- Veterans get complimentary admission November 9 through 11.

Mount Vernon -- All active-duty, former, or retired military personnel are admitted for free on November 11.

National Parks -- On November 11, veterans will have access to over 100 National Parks that require entrance fees for free.

National WWI Museum and Memorial -- Admission is free for veterans and active-duty military personnel November 8 through 11.

Oklahoma City Zoo -- Active-duty, active reserves and retirees get free admission on November 11.

Planet Fitness -- Veterans and active military personnel can work out for free from November 8 through 15. In addition to full access to club services, veterans and active military personnel are invited to bring a workout buddy at no additional charge and relax after they work out with free HydroMassage and chair massages.

San Antonio Zoo -- Active-duty, retired, veteran members of the military, National Guard and Reserves get free admission throughout the month of November. Up to four immediate family members can receive 50% off standard admission on date of visit. Military members plus, up to four dependents can also save 20% on annual passes.

Super 8 by Wyndham -- Active and retired military members, veterans and their families can enjoy 20% off the Best Available Rate at participating Super 8 by Wyndham hotels. Plus, Wyndham Rewards members receive 500 bonus points. Book by December 5 and complete your stay by December 6. 

The Alamo -- Active-duty military and veterans get free tours on November 11.

USS Constitution Museum -- Admission is free November 9 through 11 for active-duty, retired, and reserve military personnel.

World of Coca-Cola -- Active duty, reserves and retirees get free admission year-round, and November 1 through 11, members of the Armed Forces may purchase up to four half-price general admission tickets for their friends and family.

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts -- Active and retired military members, veterans, and their families save up to 20%, plus receive 500 Wyndham Rewards bonus points on stays through December 6.

Zoo Atlanta -- Veterans, active-duty, retired and reserve members get free admission and $4 off general admission for up to six accompanying guests on November 11.
