Job Description
The primary focus of the Building Engineer is to provide repair and maintenance services for their assigned location. A “hands-on,” “tool-carrying” building engineer with previous verifiable experience to perform operational supervision of the chiller, boilers, and all central plant machinery, as well as maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, laundry equipment, and kitchen appliances.
The successful candidate coordinates with outside contractors and works with management to order supplies and tools. Professional presence, as well as punctuality and reliable attendance, are essential.
Key ResponsibilitiesPreventive Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance, and Emergency Support maintenance of customer's facilities to include:
HVAC
Plumbing
Motors
Engines
Controls
Electrical
Publish critical reporting to customers and management, including:
Actively interface with customers at all levels.
Ensures customer satisfaction through oral and written communication.
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
Looking for candidates with a strong technical background with experience troubleshooting HVAC equipment, engines, motors, and controls. Candidates must be mechanically inclined and have strong troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.
Candidates should be able to communicate clearly, both written and verbally, and have strong customer service skills. Candidates will be self-starters and will be comfortable working by themselves and holding themselves accountable. Excellent communication and customer service skills are of utmost importance.
