Position Details:
Title: Principal Engineer (Power & Recovery)
Location: Lewiston, ID
Shift: Monday – Friday daytime hours; otherwise as needed/required.
Compensation: $121K-$182K base salary + 20% AIP bonus + full & complete relocation + sign-on bonus.

Position Description: As Principal Engineer for Power & Recovery you will provide Technical and Operational Consultation, Continuous Improvement, and build the Plant Engineering and Production Capability. Here are some of the key duties for each of these focus areas for the Plant:
Technical and Operational Consultation
• Serves as principle internal subject matter expert in power, recovery, and utilities to support operating sites in identifying and resolving paper machine operations and process related opportunities leveraging FMEA, VAVE and Root Cause Analysis and other troubleshooting methodologies.
• Lead the development and execution of assets reliability & safety programs incorporating capital prioritization.
• Research, identify and develop projects and process improvements for boilers, evaporators, and turbines.
• Serve as principle contact to outside contractors and service providers, providing leadership and direction delivering projects and services within budget and time constraints.
Continuous Improvement
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement through the review and refinement of utility asset reliability roadmap, parts strategy, and vendor management.
• Identify opportunities to improve overall performance through development and deployment of maintenance standards; process engineering, machine design/layout with emphasis on supporting energy saving programs.
• Leverage engineering technical expertise through collaboration with chemical & vendor representation marketing to improve asset capabilities.
• Communicate identified best practices and ensure long term application across the network.
• Support WAVE initiatives and process.
• Organizes and manages chemical agreements in conjunction with procurement and manufacturing.
Engineering and Production Capability Building
• Foster an operating environment that encourages employee engagement through demonstration and modelling of Company’s Core Values.
• Drive a culture of technical collaboration throughout Power & Recovery Superintendents, Supervisors, Process Engineers, and Business Unit Leaders.
• Enable technical and quality sustainment plan by promoting developing and transferring knowledge across work groups.
• Provide technical consultative insight in collaboration with Manufacturing Director, for Qualification Cards (Q-Cards) for tissue production assets.




Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or related field required, Master’s Degree preferred.
• Paper Mill or Paper Manufacturing experience required, preferably paperboard experience.
• 10+ years of progressive responsibility in power & recovery operations required.
• 5+ years of budgetary responsibilities (Project or Operating Budget)
• Experiences in manufacturing, commercial (sales), or vendor management required.
• US Citizen or current authorization to work in US on full-time basis with no future sponsorship required.
