Position Description:
The company is seeking an experienced Fleet Technician - Truck/Trailer. In this position you will be responsible for handling the assigned inspection and repair of Trailers to include preventative and non-scheduled maintenance, including inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and/or replacing components, chassis and systems.
In this role, you will:
• Knowledgeable in the safe operation of all garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists, and jacking equipment.
• Identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs.
• Adhere to manufacturer’s warranty policies and procedures.
• Shall be consistently capable of independently analyzing and safely resolving problems.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
• Performance preventive maintenance on fleet of trailers
• Welding/fabrication as needed on trailer equipment.
• Knowledge in the safe operation of all garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists and jacking equipment.
• Ability to Identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret technical data via instruction manuals.
Requirements:
• Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic and welding experience required.
• experience diagnosing, repairing and maintaining diesel engines in a shop, fleet or roadside assistance.
• Welding experience for trailers maintenance is required.
• excellent driving record
• This job requires frequent activities such as standing, walking, pushing and pulling up to 75lbs. and lifting up to 50lbs.
• The position also requires occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching/working overhead and climbing. Many tasks require the use of one or both hands such as installing parts, using wrenches, tools and other diagnostic equipment.
• Shop, yard, vehicle environment, typically noisy. Required to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and snow/ice conditions.
