Position Details
Location: Hampton, VA (Bethel Landfill)
Compensation: $25-$28/hr +OT
Shift: Monday-Friday 7am-4pm

Position Description
As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will perform complex preventative maintenance tasks and diagnose and repair a diverse range of equipment, including trucks and heavy machinery. Responsibilities include conducting repairs on various equipment components such as differentials, hydraulic systems, motors, transmissions, and electrical systems while adhering to preventative maintenance checklists and maintaining accurate records of work performed. You will be working on Equipment that services the Bethel Landfill.
Position Requirements
• The ideal candidate for this role should possess at least two years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing diesel-powered heavy equipment, encompassing a range of machinery such as bulldozers, excavators, scrapers, and loaders.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic and electrical systems, diesel engines, drives, and differentials is essential.
• Familiarity with fleet maintenance software and the Total Tire Maintenance program, along with the ability to conduct preventive maintenance autonomously, is desired by the hiring manager.
