Position Details:
Title: HVAC Reliability Technician
Location: Shelby, NC
Shift: 1st Shift Mon.-Fri. typically 6:00am – 3:30pm.
Compensation: $34.25-$37.70/hr. starting base rate, depending on skills and experience + O/T for any bi-weekly hours worked over 80. Paid bi-weekly. Pay is negotiable based on experience level coming into the role. Relocation in the form of a sign-on bonus paid after 30-days employment available for qualified and experienced non-local candidates.

Position Description: The HVAC Reliability Tech is part of the Facilities Group team on the Plant maintenance team and responsible for HVAC planned and unplanned maintenance to increase the reliability of these systems. In this role you will cover two production facilities and conduct regular preventive maintenance inspections of refrigeration units, isolated heating, and ventilating units, including boilers, gas, and electrically operated air-conditioning equipment, and made necessary adjustments or repairs. A key part of this role will be your duties to supervise, oversee, and coordinate regular and timely technical reviews of HVAC-related engineering group deliverables developed by engineering consultants/contractors, ensuring design optimization in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices. Duties include:
• Maintaining records for uptime/downtime events and inventory of repair supplies and materials.
• Working from complex blueprints, schematics, drawings, and instructions to carry out work on heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning equipment.
• Plumbing of refrigeration system for pneumatic, chilled, and tower water branch ties.
• Install and repair of controls and systems by using various meters, gages, indicators, and leak detectors as well as the ability to balance air systems.
• Work with a project team and assist in the design of HVAC systems.
• Assist Project Engineer with reports, calculations, simulations, and design/layout of HVAC systems.
• Oversee the reliability of compressed air systems and work with Maintenance and Engineering to provide training and support major repairs or replacement of systems.
• Apply high-level of safety standards & ensuring workplace safety, including participation in briefings.

Requirements:
• HS Diploma/GED
• 2+ years of demonstrated experience and knowledge in performing a complete installation of HVAC equipment and troubleshooting and servicing old and new units.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with/us Microsoft office word/excel/PowerPoint.
