Maintenance Technician – Night Shift

Shift: 6PM–6AM | 12-Hour Shifts | Schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (3-Day Work Week)

Pay: $28–$38/hour (based on experience) + Relocation Allowance

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on a wide range of production equipment, including:

• Filling machines
• Metal detectors
• Case erectors and packers
• Sealers and pasteurizers
• Motors, pumps, and conveying equipment

Note: This is a 12-hour night shift role with a 3-day work week

Core Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with minimal supervision
• Perform root cause analysis and recommend long-term fixes
• Assist operations staff and serve as a technical resource
• Identify and report equipment or safety concerns
• Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
• Adapt to fast-paced environments and shifting priorities
• Work weekends, nights, and holidays as required
  

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2–5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Solid understanding of:
  • Pumps, motors, mechanical drives, pneumatics, sensors, valves
  • Power tools, piping, lubrication, fasteners, and proper tool usage
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
• Experience using CMMS/EAM systems and precision measurement tools
• Comfortable working in various environments: hot, cold, at heights, or in confined spaces
• Capable of lifting/pushing/pulling up to 60 lbs. and standing for 12-hour shifts
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair plant electrical systems up to 480V
• Maintain motors, starters, VFDs, I/O controls, and some robotics on production equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and equipment failures
• Support project work for plant growth, upgrades, and safety improvements
• Coordinate with outside contractors for installations and equipment servicing
• Assist operators to reduce downtime and support scheduled changeovers

Job Description

Technicians work independently with minimal supervision and are backed by a team of engineers, lead technicians, and technical staff. Candidates should have strong mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process control experience.

• Maintain safety, quality, and regulatory compliance at assigned facilities
• Operate and maintain equipment such as compressors, gas analyzers, control systems, and pneumatic valves
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues to ensure maximum plant uptime
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors for maintenance and site audits
• Record maintenance and compliance activities through process control systems
• Assist with onboarding and training of new employees as needed
• Respond to after-hours emergencies and support additional plant sites if required

• High school diploma or GED required (Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred)
• 2–5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Air separation or other complex process control environments
  • Industrial maintenance involving mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation systems
  • HVAC or relevant military engineering roles (e.g., Machinist Mates, Electrician Mates, Gas Turbine Technicians)
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with FIX 32 or other process control software is a plus
• Effective communication and time management skills
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, climb ladders/stairs, and work in various environmental conditions
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

• Familiarity with AWS, ASME, API welding codes and standards

Job Description

The Field Service Engineer II is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing automated instruments used in histology, cytology, and hematology. This position requires frequent travel to perform field service and some installation work. You will also conduct evaluations, testing, inspections, and training on company products.

Travel: Up to 75% domestic travel, primarily within the Southwest region and throughout the U.S. as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Repair medical instruments to manufacturer specifications
• Decontaminate and clean biohazards from instruments before repair
• Perform electrical safety tests
• Provide technical support to Field Service Technicians, BMETs, and internal support teams (Help Desk-style guidance in-person, via phone, email, etc.)
• Conduct field service repairs to minimize customer downtime
• Perform quality inspections and evaluate procedures for future revisions

• Train Field Service Technicians, Independent Repair Vendors (IRVs), BMETs, and other personnel on instrument installation, decontamination, repair, and testing
• Participate in developing and updating service manuals
• Conduct training sessions on- and off-site as assigned

• Document service reports in compliance with FDA requirements
• Draft service bulletins for distribution to IRVs and other partners
• Coordinate product feedback with Manufacturing and Product Development teams
• Analyze service failures and prepare comprehensive reports
• Participate in meetings, task forces, and other collaborative groups

• Ensure compliance with ISO 13485 certification standards
