The Goals and Challenges of this Role:
  • Responsible for conducting quality weld inspections using various methods in accordance with industry standards and contract specific requirements.
  • Provide factual, comprehensive data and draft reports for customers addressing NDT inspection criteria completely.

Position Summary:

We are seeking experienced Machinists with strong capabilities in operating CNC and manual horizontal or vertical boring mills. ALL LEVELS Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 3–5 years of experience, strong blueprint and program-reading skills, and the ability to independently set up and machine large, complex components. This is a hands-on role within a custom, low-volume manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret complex shop drawings, blueprints, and machining programs.
  • Understand and troubleshoot G-code and other program instructions to ensure accurate machining.
  • Calculate dimensions, locations, and compound angles using trigonometric functions.
  • Select proper tooling and determine feeds and speeds based on material and tooling type.
  • Understand the scope and timing of each job and execute accordingly.
  • Proactively clarify any unclear or conflicting drawing details.
  • Collect necessary tools, fixtures, and setup materials in advance.
  • Securely and logically set up jobs on machines (may require climbing on equipment and lifting up to 75 lbs, with labor assistance when needed).
  • Coordinate with the foreman to verify all setups before beginning work.
  • Double-check all measurements and calculations for accuracy.
  • Ensure coolant and lubricant levels are adequate; replenish or replace as needed.
  • Machine each part efficiently, safely, and professionally.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the machine area at all times.
  • Complete detailed inspection reports while the part remains fixtured, prior to repositioning.
  • Safely remove parts from machines and clean work areas for the next setup.
  • Accurately log time per job and job subset immediately after completion and at the end of each shift.
  • Immediately report any machine malfunctions, material issues, or machining errors to leadership.
  • Support other machinists by offering guidance and assisting with setup or tooling when needed.
Senior-Level Requirements:
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and machining programs.
  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot G-code and make program edits when necessary.
  • Familiarity with CAM software including:
    · MasterCam
    · Fusion360
    · Surfcam

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3–5+ years of experience operating CNC and/or manual horizontal or vertical boring mills.
  • High level of proficiency in blueprint reading, G-code interpretation, and custom part setup.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
  • Experience machining large, one-off or low-volume components.
  • Willingness to work in a collaborative, detail-oriented environment.
Work Environment:
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm with 2 hours of standard daily overtime available (typical 50-hour week). Rare weekend work.
  • Facility: 30,000 sq. ft. machining facility focused on large custom builds.
  • Tools: Candidates are expected to provide their own basic tools (indicators, edge finders, micrometers, wrenches, etc.). Payroll deductions available for tool purchases if needed.

Position Description Summary: The NDT Level III Inspector is responsible for maintaining the company NDT program including the development of NDT Inspectors, qualification of welders, and oversight for weld/NDT support and compliance.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Work with management and shop foremen to address remedies for non-conformances and prevention.
  • Support production in resolution of day-to-day issues, as needed.
  • Perform calibration and basic and preventative maintenance on all quality control equipment.
  • Remain current with inspector qualifications, code analysis, industry standards, procedures, and processes.
  • Interact with customer and government source inspectors as needed. •
  • Represent the company, as needed, on field issues requiring investigation and decisions associated with product quality and conformance.
  • Maintain work area, equipment, and supplies in a neat and orderly condition.

Position Requirements:
  • Education/Experience:
  • Associates Degree, preferred, or equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
  • 5+ years quality control experience.
Licenses/Certifications:

  • Create and maintain all programs for the shop floor, using Siemens NX software.
  • Works with the Project Managers (PM’s) and Manufacturing Engineers (ME’s) in evaluating requests for quote to determine if a program can be done cost effectively for the customer and the company.
  • Works with PM’s, ME’s, vendors and others to gather any necessary information for new jobs.
  • Coordinate jobs flowing through the department and verify data prior to being released to the shop.
  • Work with the operation and engineering teams to resolve any programming issues.
  • May develop programs for touch probe programming for on machine inspection and coordinate shifting. Support the development of touch probing standard procedures.
Requirements

  • Experience with 5 axis and/or Swiss programming.

CMM Programmer Operator

Description: ADDMAN is seeking a CMM Programmer Operator to join the Quality Team in Wright City, MO near St. Louis. This is an exciting position that plays a key role in ensuring production parts meet customer requirements using CMM equipment and software. This person will assist in performing visual and dimension inspections to ensure that all product meets customer specifications and requirements.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Measure key part characteristics with CMM equipment
  • Perform CMM programming, setup, and analysis of both in process and finished products
  • Work with engineering and programming teams to troubleshoot parts
  • Perform first piece production inspection and provide feedback 
  • Document findings and develop planning for jobs 
  • Train others on CMM operation and appropriate methods
  • Check and verify machined component dimensions using measuring devices to blueprints
  • Communicate effectively with machinist, operators, and management to maintain acceptable quality standards
  • Maintain and generate all required quality documentation including inspection and discrepancy reports
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned or requested
Requirements
  • ITAR REQUIREMENTS: This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person citizenship status.  
     
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Computer skills 
  • Innovative thinker and a self-starter
  • Solid problem-solver strong sense of urgency
  • Good organization and attention to detail
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2 year technical degree and/or 2 years shop floor machining
  • 2 years shop Floor machining and/or 6 months Quality Inspection in machine shop environment
  • Able to operate a CMM, including choosing appropriate tools and inspecting parts with minimal supervision
  • Preferred experience with PC DMIS CMM software
  • Knowledge of GD&T and general blueprint interpretation
     
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, and other mandatory safety equipment.
  • For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Sit or stand as needed.
  • Walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.
  • Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, or lifting as required to reach documents or store materials throughout the workday.
  • Proper lifting techniques required.
  • Ability and comfortability to work in small confine spaces while following proper safety protocol.
  • Ability to accomplish the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
