About the Role 

MSHS Pacific Power Group is seeking highly experienced Engines Service Engineers (Level 4–5) to serve as senior technical leaders supporting complex engine, system, and controls environments. In this advanced field-based role, you will perform and lead maintenance, repair, overhaul (MRO), commissioning, and diagnostic activities across customer sites and in-house operations. 

This role is ideal for expert-level service professionals who thrive in high-complexity environments, operate with minimal supervision, and provide technical leadership, mentorship, and trusted consultation to customers and internal teams. What You’ll Do 

  • Advanced Field Service & Technical Leadership Perform and lead complex MRO activities on engines, systems, and controls 
  • Deliver expert- to master-level electrical and mechanical fault finding 
  • Install and commission standard, small, and large systems, including all types of actuation 
  • Read, interpret, and develop complex electrical, hydraulic, and control schematics 
  • Provide high-level technical consultation on-site and in-house with minimal supervision

autonomy, minimal supervision, and direct impact on critical infrastructure,
without automotive maintenance or shop-based work. You will be home nightly,
with opportunities for overtime and emergency response as needed.

Continental Tide is searching for skilled Marine Electricians III for our Fleet Services for our Fleet Services in Norfolk, VA. The successful candidate will join our Fleet Services Group performing various ship repairs, modernization and Alteration Installation Team (AIT) projects.

Essential duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Inspecting, repairing, installing, modifying, and maintaining electrical/electronic systems, circuits and equipment.
  • Perform on-site field service for system grooms and checkouts, minor repairs and system configuration validation.
  • Setting up, checking, and correcting operational and experimental electrical machinery, circuitry, and equipment while adhering to pre-established guidelines and engineering specifications
  • Assembles multi-pin connectors and fiber optic connections.
  • Constructing components, subunits, or simple models or adapting standard equipment and troubleshoots and corrects malfunctions.
  • Performing component and/or system troubleshooting to diagnose the problem and provide most cost effective recommendation for completing repairs. Perform and/or verify mechanical alignments. Perform on-site field service for system grooms and checkouts, minor repairs and system configuration validation.
  • Read, interpret, and understand simple schematics and blueprints.
  • Inspects and tests electrical systems and equipment to locate and diagnose malfunctions, using visual inspections, testing devices
  • Extracts and compiles a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc.; processes data, identifying errors or inconsistencies; selects methods of data presentation.
  • Conducting various tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement; selects, sets up, and operates standard test equipment and records test data.
  • Follow specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment.

Experience and Skills:

Requirements include:

  • *******Must be Copper Connector Certified & possess fiber optic experience*******
  • Technical expertise with power generation and transmission equipment, motorized valve actuators, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), fiber optics and integrated network system experience
  • Possess a minimum of seven (7) years of practical shipboard experience with HM&E systems and equipment.
  • Possess possess NAVSEA Cableway and Connectorization Certifications.
  • Candidates must possess a high school diploma, GED or industrial school certificate.
  • Setting up, checking, and correcting operational and experimental electrical machinery, circuitry, and equipment while adhering to pre-established guidelines and engineering specifications.

What You'll Do:
  • Diagnose, repair, and overhaul diesel and gaseous generator systems in the field
  • Troubleshoot AC/DC electrical systems, engine control panels, and switchgear
  • Conduct load bank testing, performance assessments, and system upgrades
  • Complete full generator rebuilds and PMs (preventive maintenance)
  • Travel across Alaska (remote, rugged conditions) to support mission-critical systems
  • Accurately document service reports and maintain compliance with safety protocols

Required Skills & Qualifications:
