As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing service, repair, and troubleshooting work in a safe, efficient, and customer-focused manner. This role includes accurately tracking productive labor time versus travel time, performing preventive maintenance in accordance with established service programs, and maintaining detailed service documentation such as work orders and parts usage. You will stay current on equipment updates and ANSI A156.10 standards while ensuring technical manuals, company vehicles, tools, and equipment are properly maintained. Additionally, you will manage service vehicle inventory, provide high-quality customer service, build strong customer relationships, and assist with training and mentoring other technicians on installation and service methods.

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently in field-based environments
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
• Ability to stand on concrete for extended periods
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and twist
• Ability to work overhead and lift 50–75 pounds
• Ability to work in various weather and climate conditions
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and participate in on-call rotation as needed

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Prior experience servicing automatic door systems
• Construction experience installing door frames, windows, or glazing systems
• Background in electrical, automotive, or carpentry work
• Experience with databases or system configuration

Job Description

• Train for 12-14 weeks for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)/National Board training/certification commissions.
• 120 hours of on-the-job training with another Inspector to complete training process.
• Perform new construction, repair, alteration and jurisdiction inspections of boilers and pressure vessels as required by the American Society of Mechanical Engineering Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (ASME Code) Sections III, and National Board Code including referenced construction codes and standards of our clients.

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:

• High school diploma and equivalent (Military) work experience, or a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 3-5 years of boiler and/or high-pressure steam & water system maintenance/operation experience
• 4+ years of mechanical experience with Boilers and Pressure Vessels in a power plant-Nuke or conventional MM/BT, or an SRO and/or a Steam PPWO/EOOW 3+ years
• Navy Nuke EM or ET with a minimum of 3yrs qualified SRO experience
• Quality Assurance inspections of mechanical equipment, water, and steam systems
• Boiler and/or steam system maintenance and operation
• Inspections on mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems
• NBIC Boiler Inspector Qualification a plus
• Insurance inspection service experience involving risk-based inspections and analysis
• Computer skills: Microsoft Office and web-based applications, Lotus Notes
• Clean driving record and must be able to pass a background check.

• Drive sales, profit, and quality for the Boston service center.
• Conduct regular sales calls with existing major accounts and cultivate new accounts.
• Develop and present proposals or service contracts for HVM’s services and repair work.
• Review and approve contracts in line with Limits of Authority.
• Collaborate with the Region Director, Regional Sales Manager, and Marketing Services to promote new business opportunities.
• Develop and review the Area Profit
• Plan to ensure work aligns with business objectives.
• Conduct regular management committee meetings for effective communication and progress reviews.
• Prepare weekly invoicing and monthly Status Reports with staff.
• Audit and review field jobs.
• Supervise and ensure the safety and technical training of Field Engineers and Technicians.
• Coordinate technical training and support career development for field personnel.
• Review and recommend updates to field technical procedures.
• Develop and review proposals and field engineers’ reports.
• Schedule and coordinate technicians’ work with customers.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the Industrial Service Industry.
• Strong communication, supervisory, organizational, and management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, internet research, and operating computer-controlled test equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, peers, subordinates, and management, both verbally and in writing.
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Willing to travel occasionally for field region coverage and company meetings.

Physical requirements: ability to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, talk, hear, and focus on close vision tasks.
