Job Description
- Associate degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, Healthcare Technology Management, or equivalent technical experience
- Experience repairing electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, or biomedical equipment
- Experience performing preventive maintenance, inspections, calibration, and equipment repairs
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electromechanical systems
- Ability to troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Basic electronic troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, technical manuals, and service documentation
- Ability to distinguish wiring color codes and electrical components
- Ability to use diagnostic equipment and specialized test instruments
- Ability to perform performance assurance and electrical/mechanical safety inspections
- Ability to diagnose equipment failures and determine appropriate corrective actions
- Strong written documentation and computer skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office, databases, and email
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently in a field-service environment
- Ability to accurately document maintenance, inspections, repairs, and equipment history
- Ability to follow healthcare safety, infection-control, and PPE requirements
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable personal transportation and required vehicle insurance
- Ability and willingness to travel daily throughout the assigned territory
- Ability to accommodate occasional overnight, evening, and weekend travel
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to move equipment weighing up to 125 pounds with appropriate assistance
- Ability to perform physical activities including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and using hand tools
- Biomedical equipment repair experience
- Medical device field-service experience
- Experience servicing therapeutic or diagnostic medical equipment
- Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) experience
- CMMS or computerized service-management software experience
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) experience
- Experience working in FDA-regulated environments
- Healthcare industry experience
- Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) certification
- Willingness to pursue biomedical certification
- Military biomedical equipment experience
- Military electronics, avionics, communications, or maintenance background
- Industrial maintenance experience
- Electromechanical repair experience
- Experience performing manufacturer field modifications, recalls, or service bulletins
- Experience training customers or end users on equipment operation
- Experience working independently in hospitals or other clinical environments
