Marine Electrician I

Continental Tide has an need for a Marine Electrician I who will be a key support to our Fleet Services Group. The location of this position is in Norfolk, VA. The Marine Electrician will be responsible for supporting shipboard operations by leveraging practical shipboard experience with HM&E systems and equipment.

Essential duties & responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Practical shipboard experience with HM&E systems and equipment.
• Inspecting, repairing, installing, modifying, and maintaining electrical/electronic systems, circuits and equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with shipboard electronic and electrical system and equipment.
• Setting up, checking, and correcting operational and experimental electrical machinery, circuitry, and equipment while adhering to pre-established guidelines and engineering specifications.
• Interpret electrical schematics and installation drawings.
• Perform on-site field service for system grooms and checkouts, minor repairs and system configuration validation.

• NDT inspector level II will perform VT, UT, MT and PT inspections on surface ship and submarine structure. Required to perform miscellaneous tasks, as assigned by his or her supervisor.

  pump and steam turbine engineering support for manufacturing, repair and field

• Assist in the design of new pumps, pumping and pump parts
  using ANSYS, Finite Element and CAD/CAM software
• Generate accurate 3D models of components using Autodesk
  inventor.
• Utilize 3D Scanner to scan parts to generate 3D models and
  drawings
• Provide Engineering support to the operations team to
  support efficient manufacturing and repair.
• Provide Engineering support to the sales team and customers,
  reviewing specifications, specifying components, and creating requisitions.
• Participate in and analyze results from the pump/Turbine
  "Tear Down & Inspect" (TDI) process and recommend repair methods
  and scope. Assist operations in estimating the costs to carry out manufacturing
  and repair work.
• Participate and lead field service crews to carry out
  pump/turbine installation, repair and commissioning work. Special projects as
  required.
