CMM Programmer Operator

Location:

Description: ADDMAN is seeking a CMM Programmer Operator to join the Quality Team in Wright City, MO near St. Louis. This is an exciting position that plays a key role in ensuring production parts meet customer requirements using CMM equipment and software. This person will assist in performing visual and dimension inspections to ensure that all product meets customer specifications and requirements.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Measure key part characteristics with CMM equipment
  • Perform CMM programming, setup, and analysis of both in process and finished products
  • Work with engineering and programming teams to troubleshoot parts
  • Perform first piece production inspection and provide feedback 
  • Document findings and develop planning for jobs 
  • Train others on CMM operation and appropriate methods
  • Check and verify machined component dimensions using measuring devices to blueprints
  • Communicate effectively with machinist, operators, and management to maintain acceptable quality standards
  • Maintain and generate all required quality documentation including inspection and discrepancy reports
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned or requested
Requirements
  • ITAR REQUIREMENTS: This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person citizenship status.  
     
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Computer skills 
  • Innovative thinker and a self-starter
  • Solid problem-solver strong sense of urgency
  • Good organization and attention to detail
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2 year technical degree and/or 2 years shop floor machining
  • 2 years shop Floor machining and/or 6 months Quality Inspection in machine shop environment
  • Able to operate a CMM, including choosing appropriate tools and inspecting parts with minimal supervision
  • Preferred experience with PC DMIS CMM software
  • Knowledge of GD&T and general blueprint interpretation
     
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, and other mandatory safety equipment.
  • For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Sit or stand as needed.
  • Walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.
  • Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, or lifting as required to reach documents or store materials throughout the workday.
  • Proper lifting techniques required.
  • Ability and comfortability to work in small confine spaces while following proper safety protocol.
  • Ability to accomplish the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

The Role - Key Responsibilities

Entwistle Company is seeking a Solutions Design Engineer to serve as the technical bridge between our customers, sales, and engineering teams. This role is responsible for developing innovative, feasible, and cost-effective design concepts that meet customer-specific requirements while aligning with our manufacturing capabilities and business goals. You won’t just quote jobs—you’ll architect solutions. Key Responsibilities
Customer Discovery & Clarification
  • Engage with customers and internal sales staff to gather and clarify application-specific requirements.
  • Participate in discovery calls, site visits, or technical meetings as needed.
Conceptual Design & Solution Development
  • Create conceptual or preliminary 3D CAD models, layouts, or hand sketches that visualize proposed solutions.
  • Ensure solutions align with Entwistle’s manufacturing capabilities and operational limitations.
Technical Analysis & Review
  • Interpret RFQs, customer specifications, and drawings to design compliant solutions.
  • Evaluate technical feasibility and compatibility with existing systems.
Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Work with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to validate design assumptions, cost, and lead time.
  • Identify design trade-offs and risk areas early in the process.
Proposal & Presentation Support
  • Develop technical proposals, including layouts, performance expectations, integration plans, and cost considerations.
  • Join customer presentations or meetings to explain technical concepts and answer questions.
Design Transition & Handoff
  • Ensure clean transition of approved solutions to engineering for detailed design and production planning.
  • Participate in internal kickoffs or design reviews to maintain solution integrity.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • 4+ years of experience in a design, applications, or solutions engineering role.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent CAD software.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (CNC machining, automation, assembly, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical presentations.
  • Project coordination skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent solution designs.
  • Experience designing for wire & cable machinery, automation systems, or custom CNC solutions is a plus.

  • Required availability for rotating on-call schedule, 24/7 including holidays

  • Ability to work independently and travel regularly within assigned multi-state region
