Job Description
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on maintenance leader who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and is passionate about team development and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and support maintenance technicians on 3rd shift
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and controls issues to minimize downtime
- Implement corrective actions for critical equipment failures and extended downtime events
- Maintain a strong presence on the production floor, partnering with operations leadership
- Develop and manage team schedules to ensure proper coverage while minimizing overtime
- Coordinate staffing adjustments, call-ins, and shift coverage as needed
- Maintain accurate scheduling visibility 4 weeks out and communicate changes promptly
- Monitor CMMS usage to ensure accurate work order documentation and task completion
- Identify equipment reliability improvements and initiate work orders or projects
- Support and lead training initiatives; ensure completion and compliance
- Recommend and manage personnel actions including hiring, coaching, and discipline
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and support capital or facility projects
- Coordinate complex repairs and collaborate with external technical support as needed
- Promote safety, GMP compliance, and a positive team-oriented culture
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
- Associate degree or equivalent technical education/experience preferred
- Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong electrical, mechanical, and welding proficiency
- Experience utilizing CMMS and standard business software (PC, email, etc.)
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and team development skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible availability, including weekends or off-hours as needed
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, industrial noise, and powered equipment
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Exposure to varying temperatures typical of food production environments
