Job Description

Job responsibilities include:
  • Install, maintain, repair, and upgrade analytical instruments at customer sites and other locations.
  • Train users in software applications and correct equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Provide phone support to customers and recommend action to be taken – order parts, service visit, etc.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by monitoring assigned support activities and maintaining an appropriate level of communication with supervisor and support coordinator.
  • Comply with safety standards, company policies, and business objectives.
  • Maintain accurate accounts of services performed and submit activity and expense reports using designated resources according to company and department policy and procedures.
  • Update scheduling application and keep supervisor informed of activities.
  • Keep abreast of product and policy information through frequent review of company intranet and website portal.

  • Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.


Must-Have Skills, Education, & Experience:
  • A four-year college or university degree in engineering
    discipline or chemistry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is preferred.
  • Candidates with a two-year degree and major coursework in electronics or military training in a related field will be considered.
  • Minimum four years experience in field service or applications engineering in support of complex electro-mechanical equipment
    installed at customer locations is required.
  • Permanent authorization to work in the United States.
  • Candidate must be able to pass a criminal, driving, and credit background check.
  • Background in meat processing industry preferred.
  • Experience working on X-ray machine, or automation controls, highly desirable.
  • Candidates must pass a very brief multiple-choice electronics test to be considered.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Job Description

As a Safety Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the safety, compliance, and operational performance of a large commercial fleet. This position is responsible for providing guidance and oversight to plant managers, terminal managers, trainers, and drivers to ensure compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations while promoting a strong culture of safety throughout the organization.

The successful candidate will conduct accident investigations, perform root cause analysis, coach drivers, develop training programs, and identify opportunities to improve fleet safety performance. This role is ideal for candidates with transportation, fleet operations, safety management, compliance, military transportation, or logistics leadership backgrounds who enjoy working directly with personnel in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain current knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and transportation safety regulations to ensure fleet-wide compliance
  • Monitor compliance with Hours of Service (HOS), driver qualification requirements, maintenance standards, controlled substance testing, and alcohol compliance programs
  • Conduct accident investigations, document findings, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
  • Identify safety risks, compliance concerns, and operational deficiencies while recommending and implementing solutions
  • Perform ride-alongs with drivers to provide coaching, training, and performance feedback
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs for drivers, managers, and operational personnel
  • Assist with the development and implementation of fleet safety policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Analyze safety and compliance data, prepare reports, and recommend initiatives to improve fleet performance
  • Research industry best practices, technologies, and systems to enhance safety and regulatory compliance
  • Support incident prevention initiatives and continuous improvement efforts across fleet operations
  • Collaborate with management teams to promote a culture of safety and accountability

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years of fleet safety, transportation safety, or regulatory compliance experience
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership, supervisory, or team management experience
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations
  • Familiarity with commercial truck maintenance and fleet operations
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to travel extensively and work independently in field environments
