Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

• Direct daily operations and long-term operations strategy for a dual-unit BWR station.
• Oversee licensed operators and operations supervision teams.
• Ensure consistent execution of procedures, standards, and human performance expectations.

• Manage operator licensing programs, including training, requalification, and exam readiness.
• Maintain strong working relationships with NRC inspectors and support all regulatory inspections and audits.
• Ensure compliance with NRC requirements and station policies.

• Mentor supervisors, managers, and licensed staff; support succession planning for key operational roles.
• Promote a performance-focused culture centered on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Support recruitment and development efforts, including outreach to qualified military veterans.
  

Performance, Reliability & Risk Management

• Own operational metrics such as equipment reliability, scram performance, and procedure adherence.
• Lead or support root-cause evaluations and corrective actions.
• Coordinate closely with Maintenance, Engineering, RP, and Outage Management to optimize station performance.

• Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license (held previously or currently; waiver unlikely but not removed as a requirement).
• 8–10+ years of nuclear industry experience, with at least 4 years in senior supervisory or management roles at a commercial plant.
• Demonstrated experience managing licensed personnel and leading operations organizations.
• Strong understanding of NRC regulations and operational decision-making processes.
• Effective communication and leadership skills for cross-functional environments.

Requirements:

Technical:

• Participate in the machine build process, collaborating with cross-functional teams during integration, Pre-FAT, FAT, teardown, installation, and SAT.
• Develop product knowledge, technical skills, and operational proficiency during build stage.
• Serve as primary liaison with customers during on-site stage, providing training, knowledge transfer, and direct support.
• Troubleshoot mechanical automation systems and bring equipment to production readiness.

• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications; Salesforce experience a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; customer-centric approach.
• Ability to travel extensively to U.S., Canada, and Europe.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments with minimal supervision.
• Must be willing to relocate to Canada for build stage.

Location: Central Region (Chicago, Indy, Cincy, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Detroit, Kansas City, Dallas, Houston)

• Coordinate own travel to meet on-site maintenance, installation, service or repair schedule requirements of Super Conducting MRI Magnets.
• Work, communicate and collaborate effectively with internal Siemens partners.
• Perform maintenance according to scheduled requirements to maintain uptime of customer equipment.
• Perform semi-complex mechanical and electrical repairs or troubleshooting on Super Conducting Magnets to identify failure modes and root cause analysis.
• Safely handle or transfer cryogenic gases such as liquid helium or liquid nitrogen within the scope of planned work.
• Respond to semi-complex second level service calls. Participate in the assessment of semi-complex product/equipment performance based on field support data and recommend modifications or improvements.
• Maintain own tools and test equipment and comply with calibration schedules and processes to ensure reliable and repeatable service delivery.
• Contribute ideas & feedback for continuous improvement (i.e., process, product, tooling or customer experience).

• Previous field service experience/heavy travel schedules is a plus but not required.
• Must be able to interpret system schematics and flow-charts.
• A highly tuned mechanical aptitude and the ability to visualize and explain situations and resolutions are also critical in this role.
• Excellent customer service, communication (oral & written), documentation, and PC skills are essential to this position’s success.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide highly visible customer support through the performance of on-site installation of proton therapy equipment and ancillary devices, as well as overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems.

• Mechanical: Torque Wrenches; Precision Gauges & Levels; Vernier Scales, Calipers and Micrometers; Drills, Saws, Taps and Dies; Lubrication and Adhesives
• Electrical: Digital Multi-Meter, Oscilloscopes, Circuit/Component tooling; Soldering
• Desired Military Experience in the following: Nuclear power plant, Airframe & power plant, Avionics, Ground support equipment maintenance, Medical devices, Electrical maintenance
• Experience in the semiconductor field service/maintenance: Ion Implant, CVD, Etch, PVD, Photolithography
