HVAC Test Technician - Test Technicians help perform key diagnostic and quality tests on HVAC systems. Test Technicians may respond to error messages, gather data for reports, and perform other routine quality-control tasks, depending on the need.

Description: Building Engineer

  • The primary focus of the Building Engineer is to provide
    repair and maintenance services for their assigned location. A 'hands-on'

    perform operational supervision of the chiller, boilers, and all central plant
    machinery as well as maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing, HVAC,

Key

  • Preventive Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance, and
    Emergency Support maintenance of customer's facilities to include:

Position Details:
Title: HVAC Mechanics
Location: Twin Cities, MN campus in beautiful
Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN
Shift or Travel: Openings on 1st shift & 2nd shift,
mostly Mon. – Fri. standard 8-hours, some weeks four 10-hour shifts.
Compensation: Initial starting rate is $32.65/hr.  going up to $36.41/hr. depending on
experience for Mech 2 and $37.30/hr. going up to $40.31/hr. for Mech 3 ( Grade
2, which is three years of direct mechanical experience and Grade 3, which is
five years’ experience)
Bonuses/Additional Pay: With base pay & outstanding
benefits these roles pay $70K+ annually!

Position Description:  Mechanic
Mechanics are primarily responsible for providing complex
mechanical maintenance, mostly HVAC type work, and repair work to building
systems and other related equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Tests, regenerates, inspects, adjusts, changes filters,
    repairs/replaces water softeners, distilled water, and laboratory water systems
    down stream of approved backflow preventers
  • Aligns and replaces hot water heating, chilled water, and
    condenser water pumps
  • Inspects/services/performs daily operation to water heating
    & low-pressure steam systems
  • Repairs/replaces hot water heating, low pressure steam
    systems and steam/chiller components
  • Shuts down, starts up, repairs, replaces, and installs
    irrigation systems
  • Daily operation of chilled water generating equipment and
    repair (non-refrigerant side)
  • Inspects, tests, cleans, repairs, and maintains daily
    operation of cooling towers
  • Repairs and replaces components of air handlers and dampers;
    inspects and cleans coils
  • Repairs and replaces variable blade axial fans &
    generator engines
  • Notifies supervisor of equipment & supplies needs and
    facilities repair or upkeep needs
  • Shocks water heaters
  • Resets and programs building master clocks and lighting
    panels
  • Flushes and winterizes heating and cooling coils
  • Tests, cleans, lubricates, monitors, and inspects fire pumps
    and associated equipment
 
Requirements: 
  • Technical training in mechanical maintenance
    with at least 3 years of applicable work experience.  Ability to follow written and oral
    instructions. Ability to meet the physical requirements of this position.
    Ability to interact with fellow employees, management, customers, and the
    public in a courteous, cooperative, and professional manner.  Maintain a positive public image, positive
    attitude and demeanor when performing a service for customers and the public at
    the company.  Safely perform duties
    following established company safe operating procedures and practices.
