Visual Acuity – Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts and machinery.

Hearing Ability – Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action.

Job Description

The Chassis Mechanic will perform mechanical repairs and inspections in both a depot/repair facility environment as well as roadside environment. The employee will perform all types of chassis repairs including brakes and wheel end repairs, welding (experience preferred but not required), cutting with a torch and repairing and replacing parts on the chassis using standard repair tools. Repairs will be performed to FMCSA standards.

  • Troubleshoot and repair all chassis defects
  • Repair lights, tires, flaps, safety latches, troubleshoot ABS and more
  • Including ABS systems; air brake systems, wheels end, and structural assemblies
  • Use of mobile app to log work orders and document repairs
  • Use of a Mobile truck to drive to locations and complete repairs to DCLI chassis.


Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Diesel or Chassis Mechanic.
  • FMCSA and brake certification required.
  • Knowledge of DOT rules and criteria.
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently and without direct supervision.
  • Must be willing to work outside and capable of lifting 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Tulsa, OK: target base salary ~$30/hr - $34/hr

Travel/Schedule: Approximately 50% to 75% overnight
travel; you can realistically expect to travel 3 to 5 days (typical job length)
each week, typically within a drivable distance, but occasionally throughout
the U.S. (home on weekends).  On average
you will travel to customer sites three weeks each month, and be home for the
other week.  When not traveling, you will
either work from home (completing paperwork, providing technical support,
assisting with housing loadouts, etc).   

Compensation: Target base salary ~$30/hr - $37/hr
depending on experience and location (see above)
Bonuses/Additional Compensation: you can expect about 15%
O/T annually paid at 1.5X base rate. Mileage is reimbursed and travel expenses

Position Description: In this role you will be
responsible for supporting customers with on-site service, technical support
and on-site training. Primary functions of this position are commissioning new
equipment; preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of existing
equipment; and telephone customer support. The Field Service Technician also
prepares reports documenting the work performed and the performance of the
equipment. You will spend your first few weeks training at the home office in Tulsa,
OK, then receive OJT with other seasoned FSTs before going out on work calls
autonomously.  Some specific
responsibilities include:
 
  • Provide technical service support on existing
    installations ensuring systems continue to meet existing building occupancy
    codes and efficient operation requirements.
  • Programming and commissioning of Control Systems and
    Integration with other systems related to building automation.
  • Be well-versed in multiple controls systems as they may
    be on a different site each day based on the service calls that come in on a
    daily basis.
  • Communicate directly with the customer in order to
    satisfy the needs regarding the specifics of what is required to solve the
    issue on a particular site.
  • Document the services performed on a service call on a
    FSR (Field Service Report) with details of what the service call consisted of
    and to document if the call is complete or will require a follow up visit.
  • Replace failed parts, controllers, wire, relays and
    devices as required. 
  • Maintain a good disposition with the customers and deal
    with them in a courteous manner at all times.
  • Verify devices, panels and annunciators of controls
    projects.
  • Ensure timely software backups are created for projects
    and software development.
  • Complete time sheets, service work orders, and other
    paperwork required for this position in an accurate and timely manner.
 
In order to be successful in this role, you should have
good electrical, electronic and/or mechanical aptitude, to include
troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of such equipment and systems as AC/DC
motors, industrial controls, compressors, backup generators, etc.   You should also have a clear ability to work
with electronic equipment such as volt meters, amp meters, oscilloscopes, etc;
the ability to troubleshoot basic electric and electronic circuitry, including
reading and interpreting electrical and electronic diagrams; and a working
understanding of AC power circuitry including breakers, multi-phase power, etc
(120VAC).  You must be comfortable
working at heights or in confined spaces.  And you must be service-minded and customer-focused.
