Job Description

The Electrical Field Service Technician/Engineer will be responsible for the identification, development, and implementation of preventive/predictive programs and corrective maintenance solutions for electrical systems and equipment in multiple facilities. This person will be expected to work independently and make technical decisions and recommendations in the field.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot industrial electrical distribution systems and equipment including Substations, Breakers, Switchgear, MCCs, Protective Relay systems, Battery and UPS systems and Transformers with voltages up to 138kV.
  • Induction and synchronous motors up to 40,000 hp and 15,000 volts.
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, lead and perform preventive & corrective maintenance based on established procedures.
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, lead and perform predictive maintenance - such as IR Thermography, Transformer Oil Analysis, Partial Discharge Analysis and Power Quality Analysis.
This position requires a combination of office work and field work. This position typically requires approximately 20% out of town travel domestically. Accessibility during off-hours is required. Employee will be required to work in all weather conditions and must be able to access elevated electrical and mechanical equipment via ladders, scaffolding, man-lifts and crane baskets.


Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Medium to high voltage is a must, overtime is available
  • Candidate must be willing to travel up to 30%
  • MUST Electrical experience- Electrician, Nuke EM, cannot be an ET or Mech
  • Knowledge of Preventive and Predictive maintenance of industrial electrical systems and equipment.

A rapidly scaling advanced materials manufacturing organization is seeking Operations Area Leads to support the startup and expansion of multiple rare earth processing production lines in Central Indiana. This organization is building a high-performance operational culture focused on safety, procedural discipline, operational reliability, and continuous improvement within a highly technical industrial processing environment.
This is a hands-on frontline leadership role responsible for leading small operator teams while directly supporting daily plant operations, troubleshooting, process execution, and operational readiness across critical production areas.
The company is in startup and commissioning mode, with several new production lines scheduled to come online over the next 6–12 months. These positions offer the opportunity to play a key role in building operations from the ground up while working alongside engineering, maintenance, and plant leadership teams.

Military technical leadership backgrounds are highly valued for this role, particularly Navy nuclear-trained operators, Engineering Watch Supervisors, ELTs, Leading Petty Officers (LPOs), and Chiefs with strong operational leadership and procedural compliance experience.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead daily operations within assigned production and processing areas
  • Supervise and support small operator teams during shift operations
  • Promote strong safety culture, procedural adherence, and operational discipline
  • Monitor process conditions, equipment performance, and operational reliability
  • Utilize PLC/HMI systems to monitor and support plant operations
  • Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to troubleshoot equipment and process issues
  • Support startup, commissioning, and operational ramp-up activities for new production lines
  • Assist with process optimization, operational troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead shift turnover communication and operational updates between crews

Job Description

Position Description: In this role you will be responsible for supporting customers with on-site service, technical support and on-site training. Primary functions of this position are commissioning new equipment; preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of existing equipment; and telephone customer support. The Field Service Technician also prepares reports documenting the work performed and the performance of the equipment. You will spend your first few weeks training at the home office in Tulsa, OK, then receive OJT with other seasoned FSTs before going out on work calls autonomously. 


Some specific responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical service support on existing installations ensuring systems continue to meet existing building occupancy codes and efficient operation requirements.
  • Programming and commissioning of Control Systems and Integration with other systems related to building automation.
  • Be well-versed in multiple controls systems as they may be on a different site each day based on the service calls that come in on a daily basis.
  • Communicate directly with the customer in order to satisfy the needs regarding the specifics of what is required to solve the issue on a particular site.
  • Document the services performed on a service call on a FSR (Field Service Report) with details of what the service call consisted of and to document if the call is complete or will require a follow up visit.
  • Replace failed parts, controllers, wire, relays and devices as required. 
  • Maintain a good disposition with the customers and deal with them in a courteous manner at all times.
  • Verify devices, panels and annunciators of controls projects.
  • Ensure timely software backups are created for projects and software development.
  • Complete time sheets, service work orders, and other paperwork required for this position in an accurate and timely manner.
 

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:

In order to be successful in this role, you should have good electrical, electronic and/or mechanical aptitude, to include troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of such equipment and systems as AC/DC motors, industrial controls, compressors, backup generators, etc.   You should also have a clear ability to work with electronic equipment such as volt meters, amp meters, oscilloscopes, etc; the ability to troubleshoot basic electric and electronic circuitry, including reading and interpreting electrical and electronic diagrams; and a working understanding of AC power circuitry including breakers, multi-phase power, etc (120VAC).  You must be comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces.  And you must be service-minded and customer-focused.
