CNC Machinist - Second Shift Lead
Location: Sterling, VA
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
Wage Range: $27-$32/hour (based on experience)
Position Summary
We are seeking a self-motivated, detail-focused CNC Machinist – Second Shift Lead to oversee and optimize operations in our CNC machining area. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a steady-paced environment, takes pride in precision work, and can lead a small team to maintain top quality and efficiency in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
WorkCentre Optimization
- Lead setup, organization, and productivity of CNC machines with support from operators.
- Oversee machining processes to ensure efficient operations and on-time delivery.
- Inspect parts to verify they meet specifications and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or machinist certification preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of machining experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in CNC and manual machining, including programming processes.
- CAD/CAM experience required; Mastercam preferred.
- Ability to set up and validate production on 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills and lathes with Siemens, Fanuc, and Haas controls.
