Harry Sisson, an Army Veteran and RedLine Athletics franchise owner, joined the podcast to discuss franchise opportunities with Redline Athletics.

Harry, a Project Manager with an Engineering and Architecture Services firm, recently purchased 13 licenses to open RedLine Athletics franchises in Tennessee. Harry's interest in RedLine Athletics was personal before it turned into a business opportunity. "My son started playing sports later in his childhood and I found that a lot of the other kids on the team had been playing together for 3-4 years and had developed the fundamentals and athleticism, and he was behind the power curve," explained Harry. "I started thinking about opening a sports training center on my own but it laid dormant for a few weeks. One night I was driving home from work listening to Sirius XM; I heard an advertisement for RedLine Athletics and thought to myself, 'that's exactly what I've been thinking about."

After contacting RedLine Athletics and hearing about the franchise opportunity, Harry decided it was a great fit for him. "One option was to purchase a single training facility and operate it here in Knoxville. Or, I could purchase a region and develop it by selling franchise licenses to other entrepreneurs who wanted to be business owners," said Harry. "I chose the Regional Development route and purchased 13 licenses - which I currently have and they are available to other entrepreneurs - and i'm in the process of opening my own training center in Knoxville," he explained.

RedLine Athletics was turned into a franchise in 2013, led by John Leonesio, Founder of Massage Envy, The Joint Chiropractic, and many other successful franchises. The business model is designed to support franchise owners from start to finish, providing guidance in the areas of construction and equipment, training, marketing, and more. "They provide a checklist that tells you everything you need to know about the franchise, all the way through grand opening. There's also support from me as a Regional Developer, and from Corporate to help with the operation of your training center," explains Harry.

As an Army veteran himself, Harry is looking for other veterans to join the RedLine franchising team. "Looking at who would be some of the best folks to open a training facility, I can't think of anyone better than service members. They're driven, success oriented, logical, smart, they're used to planning, executing, and training other service members. It seems like a perfect fit to me," he explained. The company is seeking franchise owners in many states including Colorado, Arizona, Southern California, Virginia, Texas, Illinois, Georgia, Ohio, Oregon, Missouri, and Michigan. "We currently have about 25 open training centers and another 31 that we should have on board by the end of this year. We're growing really fast," Harry said.

Harry is not only selling some of his licenses, he also wants to help potential franchise owners open their business in other areas of the country. "For anyone that goes to the RedLine Athletics website and has questions, they can call me or any of the contacts on the website. Then, we would set up a phone call with other training center owners so they can ask things like, 'how much does it cost?' 'how long did it take you to get up to 100 members?' 'What's your monthly revenue?' You can pretty much ask anything you need to know to satisfy your curiosity," Harry explained.

RedLine Athletics outperforms its competitors in the areas of flexible class schedules, affordability, and injury prevention. RedLine Athletics training centers offer classes every hour on the hour. Many other youth athletic training centers have a set schedule and do not offer much flexibility if you miss a session. RedLine is also much more affordable than other facilities of its kind. Additionally, RedLine has partnered with Fusionetics, a proprietary system of exercise and recovery solutions, also used by many professional sports teams. "For the parents of a student athlete, preventing injuries with proper training is much less expensive, because what comes between the injury and the rehab is all of the doctor's appointments and potentially surgery. If you can prevent that, it's much less expensive and provides a longer and more comfortable athletic career." In fact, RedLine's corporate office believes so strongly in Fusionetics that they pay 100% of the license fees for each of their training centers.

Another thing that makes RedLine Athletics unique is that it focuses on developing student athletes both in their sport and in life. "You get the opportunity to impact students' lives athletically and academically. You can help improve their character and overcome adversity. It's a great opportunity to help groom young adults to become good citizens of our country," says Harry.
