Production Supervisor

Southeast
US Marine Corps, O-2

In short order, I contacted Orion, got on the Hershey interview list, interviewed at Hershey, and received a job offer. My transition to the civilian workforce went exceptionally smooth. I enjoy my job, and I look forward to my time at Hershey.

Both Mike Wood and Todd Phillips treated me as a fellow professional working toward the same goal. They asked me my priorities regarding pay, region, industry, etc., and I am very satisfied with their service.

I am one of several Production Supervisors at the Hershey Robinson plant. I served as Ground Supply Officer in the USMC, and, as an OIC of a section, I dealt with a variety of personnel issues that I now face in my civilian position. In both my current civilian position and previous military position, I must be flexible with my hours, care about the people I supervise, work closely with peers, constantly learn new things, make monetary decisions, model professional behavior, adhere to standards, hold employees accountable, exercise problem solving skills, analyze cost-benefit scenarios, handle HR issues (harassment, absences), etc. Ultimately, it comes down to adhering to set standards, and holding others to those standards, as well.
