Control Room Supervisor

Northeast
US Navy, O-3

I was a Lieutenant in the Navy and was honorably discharged in January 2009. I began searching for jobs in March/April 2008. At that time, I attended an Orion hiring conference in Austin, Texas, with an Army buddy of mine. My initial contact with Orion was through Bob Berkholz, but I ended up working with Rob Valenza and Mike Wood for my placement at Entergy Nuclear.

While I did attend the conference in Austin, I decided to wait on entering the workforce until I finished my MBA. I then touched base with Rob in December of 2008 when we set up the Entergy interviews. I’ll be starting off in operations as a Control Room Supervisor.

I feel that I was treated very well by everyone at Orion. It was nice working with former military again after two years in academia. Rob and the others at Orion understood where I came from and what I was looking for.

In my opinion, Orion is more professional and better organized than other recruiting firms—the hiring conferences are a big differentiator. When I was at the hiring conference, I was put in front of eight companies, several of which were part of the Fortune 100. That’s very impressive considering today’s economic environment.

Orion was a great partner to have on my side in my job search. Orion was able to secure the job that I wanted in the location I wanted for the pay I was looking for. Thank you!
