Description


Reporting to the Operations Manager and working closely with Engineering and other key stakeholders, the Mechanical Technician will support our uranium enrichment technology development program. The role includes fabrication, installation, maintenance, and testing of first-of-a-kind engineering equipment. Additional responsibilities include assisting in component sourcing and supporting maintenance of facilities and infrastructure.

NOTE: This role is subject to the incumbent's ability to hold and maintain an NRC Q-clearance, as well as their ongoing ability to maintain nuclear site access.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Perform fabrication, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of various components and systems.
  • Collaborate with mechanical design and control systems engineers to address startup and operational issues during assembly and testing.
  • Provide facilities support in areas of HVAC, piping, pumps, compressors, chillers, and miscellaneous mechanical equipment.
  • Provide input to design engineers and other engineering team members for continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active DOE/NRC Q-clearance or equivalent (DOD Top Secret).
  • Relevant associate degree with a minimum of 2 years' experience, or 5 years' experience in a relevant technical field.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in pipefitting/welding.
  • Experience working in a nuclear facility.
  • Experience with rigging and lifting.
  • Understanding of vacuum technology and pressure systems.
  • Experience working in classified and/or highly regulated environments.
