Position Description
As an Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include:
• Schedule and manage all personnel and operations in assigned department(s), overseeing approximately 30-40 exempt and non-exempt employees.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment and give input for improvement.
• Manage labor and material costs.
• Report any process and equipment problems to the Maintenance Department and schedule down time to customer needs.
• Schedule labor to ensure production goals are met.
• Interview, hire, arrange training, conduct timely performance evaluations, discipline and terminate employees in coordination with the General Manager and Human Resources personnel.
• Ensure that established policies, rules and regulations, and procedures are followed.
• Identify problem areas and coordinate resources to areas of need and develop solutions.
Position Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• 6+ years of direct leadership experience in a technical environment.
• Proactive, hands-on management style.
• Excellent organizational, communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
• Project management experience.
• Ability to motivate and work side by side with employees to perform to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and desire to work toward upward mobility within the organization.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and comfortable learning new technology.
