Job Title: Senior Mechanical Technician – Manufacturing Team Lead
Location: Marlborough, MA
Compensation: $30-38/hour + Overtime

Position Summary
A leading manufacturer of high-precision industrial systems is seeking a Senior Mechanical Technician to serve in a lead role within the manufacturing department. This hands-on position focuses on building and testing complex mechanical and electrical assemblies, while also supporting team training and coordinating production workflows to meet aggressive delivery goals.
The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, working knowledge of pneumatics, and the ability to guide a growing team in a fast-paced, technical environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Assemble and integrate precision mechanical, electrical, and optical subassemblies into complete systems.
• Provide day-to-day direction and technical support to a team of technicians and assemblers.
• Coordinate closely with production management to align resources with build schedules and delivery targets.
• Interpret mechanical drawings, pneumatic schematics, and component documentation.
• Perform metalwork tasks including drilling, tapping, and component alignment.
• Plumb air and water systems based on pneumatic diagrams.
• Conduct basic electrical diagnostics using multimeters (preferred but not required).
• Support documentation updates, contribute to work instruction improvements, and complete ERP-related job tracking.
• Train new team members on tools, procedures, and quality standards.

Required Qualifications
• Strong mechanical aptitude, especially in assembly and metalworking.
• Experience reading mechanical and pneumatic diagrams.
• Hands-on experience with pneumatic systems and fluid plumbing.
• Proven ability to lead, train, and support a production team.
• Proficiency with basic computer tools, including spreadsheets and inventory systems.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in a physically active environment.

Preferred Qualifications – Not required
• Familiarity with basic electrical troubleshooting and multimeter use.
• CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred).
• Military or technical training background, or recent graduates with applicable hands-on experience.

Schedule and Work Environment
• Standard schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (flexible start at 6:00 AM possible).
• Onsite role with no travel required.
• Overtime is regularly available based on production needs (subject to approval).
• Fast-paced, collaborative environment with an emphasis on quality and delivery.
