The Facilities Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance, repair, and general upkeep of the company’s infrastructure and equipment. This includes troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining building systems that support ship construction, repair operations, and maritime engineering activities. |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform routine and emergency maintenance on facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, compressed air, and electrical infrastructure.
Maintain and repair shipyard infrastructure such as cranes, hoists, welding stations, and heavy machinery.
Inspect and service overhead doors, loading docks, pumps, piping, generators, and other critical systems.
Perform basic fabrication tasks such as cutting, grinding, welding, or light carpentry when necessary for repairs or installations.

While performing these job duties, the employee is routinely required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; use fingers and hands to type or write; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
