Description
The Commercial Diver- Assistant/ Project Manager is responsible for safety, timely execution, and financial performance of diving underwater construction projects. The candidate will work alongside Senior Project Managers or work independently on smaller diving projects. The primary goal of the Project Manager is to ensure that a project is completed successfully on time and within budget. Daily tasks include regular communication with Project Manager and other team members and clients as assigned, assists with budget and resource monitoring, problem-solving, issue resolution, and making budget and schedule adjustments. Commercial diving experience (or military equivalent) is required for this role.
Responsibilities
- Understand all aspects of diving underwater construction such as structural repairs, diving equipment operation, general construction techniques, and safety
- Determine and define a project’s scope and objectives
- Communicate with clients, management, and team members on the status of tasks & schedules
- The ability to estimate projects and identify exceptions or clarifications
- Work with vendors and subcontractors to coordinate deliverables
- Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
- Monitor workflow requirements to meet timelines and quality expectations
- Create comprehensive project briefs
- Prepare a budget based on scope of work and availability of resources
- Establish and maintaining timelines and milestones
- Conduct video calls and meetings
- Monitor and redefine project objectives when required
- Oversee the performance of subcontractors to ensure that all work is completed on schedule and to specification
- Oversee and manage change order process of project
- Work with maintenance shop personnel to troubleshoot equipment problems
- Identify safety hazards and production impediments
Qualifications & Requirements
- Commercial diving experience (or military equivalent)
- 3 +years of underwater operations experience (commercial or military)
- Ability to read/understand project plans, specifications and contract requirements
- Planning and forecasting
- Effective communication, both written and verbal
- Scheduling and time management

- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget and timeline
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products to include Project
