  • Schedule: Dupont Schedule (12-hour shifts)
    • Week 1: 4-night shifts, 3 days off
    • Week 2: 3-day shifts, 1 day off, 3-night shifts
    • Week 3: 3 days off, 4-day shifts
    • Week 4: 7 days off
    • You only work 14 days per month AND get 8 hours of built-in OT every 2 weeks!
  • Compensation: $35–$45 per hour + OT (W2 ~$80K–$100K with built-in OT)

Position Description:
The Control Room Operator is responsible for operating the plant from the Distributed Control System (DCS) while ensuring all equipment operates within design parameters. The Operator monitors plant systems, optimizes performance, and ensures compliance with State and Federal regulations.
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and evaluate plant status, making necessary adjustments for efficient operation.
  • Coordinate plant operations with dispatchers.
  • Perform start-up, shutdown, and emergency procedures for safe equipment operation.
  • Ensure compliance with Safety, Environmental, and FERC/NERC/RFC regulations.
  • Conduct functional testing of plant systems and interpret results against operational standards.
  • Investigate plant problems, incidents, or accidents; provide reports and corrective recommendations.
  • Perform switching, tagging, and housekeeping duties as required.
  • Maintain logs, records, trends, requisitions, and work orders.
  • Communicate plant status and abnormal conditions to supervisors and technicians.
  • Develop and revise operating procedures as needed.
  • Represent the company with contractors and non-company personnel.
  • Qualify to perform lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Monitor and respond to Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) and DCS data.


Requirements:
  • Strong technical background required.
  • Prior Control Room Operator experience preferred.
  • Ability to work on feet for 12-hour shifts, climb ladders/stairs, and lift 50 lbs.
  • Must wear protective equipment when required (hard hats, safety glasses, respirators, etc.).
  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed.
  • Must pass Fitness for Duty Program (physical exam, drug screening, and ongoing random testing).
  • Will work with hazardous materials and in restricted smoking environments.
